04_blu_shee Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 On you compression gauge what p.s.I. are you running on your Alky motor Quote
troyzstang Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Currently running 180+ on mine. 19cc alky domes cut by Brandon ( Wildcard Racing) What are you seeing? Troy Quote
04_blu_shee Posted January 6, 2014 Author Report Posted January 6, 2014 185 psi with 19cc domes. How much is too much when the motor will actually fight its self on compression. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 Motors start to really fight them selves over 165 but depending on your riding more can be beneficial but I certainly wouldn't run a lot in something that gets wound out down log roads or a strung out quater mile asphalt bike Quote
Finch Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 had 150 on mine ran great too till it popped havnt checked it with fresh nikasil tho Quote
99michael Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014
So what's the difference between alky domes and race gas domes?

I have an older trinity mx built (yes, i know) motor I got with the bike and po said to run 110,, started playing with it an I was running 205# cold. With 17cc domes.. Curious if they could be used on an alky bike if I ever decided to step it up a notch. Would alky let the bike run cooler?
Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 Alky would run cooler. Ditch those domes Quote
99michael Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014
So what's the difference in the domes?? I understand trinity is shit.. But them 17 domes don't have that stupid swirl deal cut into it like the others I see people having problems with. Just curious if they're worth holding onto or just send em off ebay's way. More than likely eBay.. Lol
Quote
Finch Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014
Dome design. Squish band width and angle. More to it then just cc size.
1 Quote
Nieskes Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 I ran 185psi with 18cc alky domes. Quote
Surfrjag Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 170psi squish velocity is the determining factor not psi Quote
possum Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Some builders have same domes for race gas or alky. 1 Quote
