And what is the biggest sprocket you can run with the poly one?

I run the T.M. Designworks also and am very happy with it.

I'm pretty sure 15 tooth is the max size out of the box, but you can very easily enlarge it to run a bigger sprocket.

I run a 16 tooth with mine. I took my air die grinder with a cutting drum tip and carefully worked my way back and forth to evenly enlarge it. Didn't take very long and didn't take a whole lot of effort.

I'm pretty sure you could enlarge it to a 17 tooth without compromising the integrity of it.

Josh's (cottonbranch) savers are geared more towards the 530 chain/high HP guys. His actually wrap around the leading edge lip of the cases, which I think is a good idea, and his are also made to only work with 1 or 2 sprocket sizes because it will guarantee that the chain cannot bind inside the sprocket area, it will simply feed itself out. On the big HP motors a chain break/bind often equals a 2500 dollar broken tranny and multiple other issues as the shock makes its way through the drivetrain. Are they spendy? Yep. Are they worth it? Yep. Another reason the price is so high is they are all hand made and hand ground to fit your chain/sprocket size.

the mod quads will fit up to a 15 with no mods.......your chain WILL touch barely but it will wear in the tiny amount that it needs (i'd still prefer to clearance it) but when it comes to the 16 up front....your gonna need to grind it out.

I bet these are one of the easier things to just make your own. For those of use that enjoy puttering around in the shop. I know spending 40$ on one is alot easier, and not even worth makeing one, but since I already bought one that is useless, I may just make one something like the cotton branch design, filling most of the space is a good idea. And ya 100$ is steeling! Can't cost more then $5 to make, probably less! If a billet one sells for 45$ a plastic one should sell for half the cost.

I wonder where one would buy some of that hard plastic?

The cottonbranch ones are very nice..... They are held in by the side cover ...no little bs screws... They wrap around the top of the case .... He makes them by hand .... Very pricyy but worth it IMO ...... they are made of delrin I believe... It fills the space almost 100%

I can kinda understand the price more now, that delrin material isn't cheap. Then you need to make the actual case saver. 100$ is still to much $ in my eyes, but it's worth what ever someone is willing to pay I guess.

I think I'm going to buy a sheet of delrin and make my own case saver.

Thanks for letting me know what that material was called, cause I had no idea.

What are you going to use machine it? If you think you're going to do it with a sawzall and a dremel, you're in for a surprise.
