I've seen you in your underwear. You losing a pound is like throwing a deck chair off the titanic.

I tried probably 10 different types of the "traditional" batteries. All had downfalls of one kind or another. Most had really inconsistent power delivery both in the pits and down track. Most couldn't recover fast enough to pulse the solendoids effectively, most couldn't go multiple passes without drop on a volt meter most took quite awhile to bring back to a "full" charge most were damn expensive especially when compared to their lack luster performance and most were as heavy or heavier than the Li drill setups I run.

If your going to try and run a stand alone ignition system the last thing you want to have to question is the power delivery and capabilities of your battery.

Yes. They might be better now than they used to be as far as consistancy goes but I find it hard to believe they aren't swapping to a fully charged one each pass. To each their own. I'll stick with what I know works.

Depends on which msd setup but I've seen multiple passes on a dual MC4 with minimal drop. Generally swapped them every 3/4 passes just for good measure. Derwin uses one on mine on his triple cougar and changes every 3 passes but has always said he sees little to no voltage drop on the meter.

So for a guy who drags in the dunes 95 percent of the time a msd wouldn't be worth the battery headache I take it. FFs, it's almost 2014 and the best battery is a ghetto drill battery.

I have a hill bike I am building at the moment, once I am finished with it I'll have a rigid built for 300ft. But the rigid will use the same power plant. Anyways, a msd is for someone only doing timed drag events due to battery limitations?

just put a good dry cell bike battery in it, you can wear flip flops instead of shoes to make up the weight and wear a lycra body suit so you cut through that wind like a knife
