Aaron109 Posted October 12, 2013 Author Report Posted October 12, 2013 Methanol what do you mean? Quote
dirtydownunder Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 as said, make sure its tuned properly or make it as stock and slow as you can. Quote
RagunCajun Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) Methanol what do you mean? methonal is an alternative fuel that runs cooler and makes more power. However he engine will use more fuel compared to gas giving you a lot worse fuel economy assuming both set up are tuned correctly. It also uses modified carbs like alcohol i think. He was being a smart ass. Ignore that post. People tend to do that here. It's sad and confuses new guys. Edited October 12, 2013 by RagunCajun Quote
lms1977 Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 First how long can you ride now? What all is done with your quad? Quote
sheerider11 Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 Stock carbs, stock pipes, stock port, stock jetting. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 Ride less or get a 4 stroke Quote
spurdy Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 2-1 carb set up and 2-1 pipe Not true. Ethan's bike has a single 33 pwk and it uses the same amount of fuel as my duner with 2 35 pwks. If you think about it the amount of fuel consumption is driven by how much the motor flows. Air flow through the carb is what affects the Venturi effect that draws fuel. More air = more fuel. Single carb will change velocity through the intake track but won't change flow. Single exhaust may choke it some but I don't think it would be noticeable over stock pipes. Bottom line is a proper tuned stock bike should get amazing fuel economy. I you want better fuel economy you are gonna have to sacrifice and get a slower bike. Almost like complaining that your Expedition doesn't get the fuel economy as your Focus. SP 1 Quote

J-Madd Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 Ride at part throttle barely on the pipe. I've limped many miles on reserve like that. Quote
