best way to ship a motor?

Agreed! Piss upon UPS. Ive shipped big stuff through Greyhound. IE complete car door from tulsa to California cost $125.

Just shipped a motor from Michigan to cali in the Rubbermaid tote with black bottom and yellow lid and it cost $143 with $2,000 worth the insurance.

Just shipped my motor last week to f.a.s.t. Via UPS ground. With $1500 worth of insurance And delivery confirmation. $76

yeeeeah I kinda went over kill with the zip ties. Just wanted to be able to sleep at night knowing I tried my best to get it there if it didn't make it. haha

The black and yellow tote is more durable. the one pictured is okay but can puncture easily when dropped. the black and yellow is a stiffer plastic.

Shipped a motor exactly as stated in rubber maide container with 1500$ insurance . It got dropped packaged flagged broke a case... Ups repackaged delivered motor w cracked case. The insurance is a gimmick they never paid out waited 3 months did everything they said to do. They never paid up said insignificant packing ... It wAs all foam inside n motor in a bag and expandable foam the other arrears where foam was. Anyhow INSURANCE is a gimmick with shipping company. Save your self 35$

Yep, I've been through this too. If you google search for ups insufficient packaging, you get over 9 million hits. They always claim this in the event of damage. I read one where there was a forklift tire track across the box and they claimed "insufficient packaging".
