I'm changing the oil in my stock banshee. I usually run 10w30 or 30w regular oil, but I have some synthetic here. I think it's ok, but wanted to check. Not wanting opinions on the best oil to use. This a beatdown ugly stock bike but it still smokes 450s.

Because its not what is recommended. Cheap is a fast way to go broke when it comes to banshees.

Well then, I better drain all my motors and call up everyone that hasn't had a problem and tell them to stop being cheap.

I use belray gear saver 80W. I hear a lot of people using atf and 10w30 but I wouldn't recommend it.

Wow, I guess Yamaha should change their Owner's Manual. "Recommended oil: Yamalube 4 (10W30) or SAE 10W30"

Doesn't say anything about atf. I stand corrected about sae 10w30. I'll be saving some coin on future oil changes.

I ended up putting oreilly 10w30 in it and put the synthetic in the 700 Raptor. Funny, the clutch acts worse with the new oil, but it won't matter for the 450s I'm gonna stomp at Leerjak memorial weekend on the play track.

I run Klotz Flexdrive synthetic racing 2-stroke transmission fluid... But anything that is "wet clutch compatible" will work. I just prefer Klotz..
