Methfireroad Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 When I got my bike the previous owner had taken the key switch out and was just use inch the on/off headlight switch. I would like to eliminate the on/off light switch. I'm wondering if I can just replace the on/off with a simple on/off toggle switch. That way I can also locate the switch in a different area.. Any help/suggestions would be great.. Thanks Quote
sheerider11 Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Just get a tether. It's at least still somewhat of a key. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Black and black/white wire from switch, connected together- no run. Those two put a switch anywhere. Quote
Starwriter Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 In order for the bike to run, the red/black wire must be connected to the black wire, and the black/white wire must NOT be connected to the black wire. Originally the red/black wire was connected to the key switch and the black/white wire was for the kill switch. Does that clear things up? Switch it any way you want. Quote

I just have the two black/black white wires off the kill switch and I was thinking I would tie the switch into those wires. Quote
tedd1 Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Yes, just conect those two wires to a simple on/off switch. If it runs now, the red/black wire must be grounded already. Quote

jbooker82 Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 I would still use a push button kill switch on the bars. I use a honda CR125 kill switch on mine. If you use a togle switch and its not on the bars it might be fun trying to shut it down when your on the back of a run away banshee. 1 Quote
Pastrykiller Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 I use these. Sleek and out of the way until you need it. Quote
