ur steps should go like this. stock carbs - then 33-35mm carbs - then 38-41 mm carbs.

Really?

How about your carbs should match the intake needs of the current motor you have.

Which, for his motor, 28PWKs would be great for now, 33PWK would also work fine.

OP already said he had the choke tube in place.

No mention of keyword 'sync' on page 1, or 2.

lets try this question.

Are your carburetors perfectly in sync?  If you blew up your last motor and now this one you have to check that.

reason being, I was messing with my throttle adjustment and I knocked the carburetors out of sync terribly a week ago. At WOT it makes a big difference which cylinder gets more air + fuel.

I have a nice score on the exhaust side of the piston on the left side methinks.

You

Tested choke circuit on left carb with a vacuum pump and confirmed significant air leak though choke valve shaft.

oops you found the problem.

Make sure your new set of carbs is synced!

Yes problem is found. Brand new 33mm pwk's in hand, just waiting on intake adapters. So when I sink the carbs I'm just making sure theyre both facing the right direction right??? Lol just kidding. Of course I sync the carbs after almost every repair. I may have a set of 21cc's Tim Lutz, but one dome is not quite as pretty as the other.
