Infamous039 Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 $395 for a 10mill crank sounds like a Wang or some off-brand crank to me. Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Don't those Wang cranks have gold rods just like that? Quote
robert0762 Posted July 6, 2012 Author Report Posted July 6, 2012 Yeah I think this is just one of those too good to be true. Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I wish I could remember who it was who told me to fuck off a while back about these TDR cranks. I said the same shit... "gold rods, gotta be a wang crank" and the cocksucker told me there was no way TDR would sell a wang crank... It's gotta be a wang crank, plain and simple. EVERYONE sells these cranks. Quote
guns4children Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I thought it wasn't the rods failing, just the amateurs installing them? Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I thought it wasn't the rods failing, just the amateurs installing them? Novices installing them. Amateurs could probably get it right. Quote
BigRed350x Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 A crank with a little small floppy chinese wang dick for a rod. LoL No joke. Those rods are weaker than a slant-eye hard-on. Quote
hp2000 Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Is TZ "style" bearing the same as a TZ Bearing ?? Quote
MarineNYC Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Figured that. Guess I've been slacking on my reading of the forums. Quote
BigRed350x Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Is TZ "style" bearing the same as a TZ Bearing ?? Quite a few different companies make needle-bearing style main bearings for banshee cranks. There are quite a few good ones, but only one has the name "TZ" Companies like NTN, Koyo, etc all make big needle bearing style mains. You have to ask the seller what brand the bearing is to determine if its a wang bearing or a good one. lol - Jared Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Yea, ask them if it's a "Wang." Ha. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?uyzo2u Quote
BANSHEE HP Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 TDR http://www.bansheedepot.com/products.asp?cat=27 this is NOT a wang crank. that is a WSM crank. a few years ago i had two wsm cranks in my hands... -grey webs not black like the wang cranks -the rods are similar but not the same markings -the welds if you could call them that were " tac welded" after the bearings were installed, one lil bb of weld per side of the pin. witness marks were visible on the bearings. -tolerences were funky just like the wang cranks, too tight side to side clearence on the lower end of the rod. -the cheapest bearings used throughout Quote
BANSHEE HP Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 after looking over tdr's cranks theres... 4mm crarnks. $375 91-5722 $468 wsm 91-5721 $500 h/r 91-5709 5mm crank. $1100 billet 91-5705 7mm cranks. $375 91-5723 $468 91-5707 $800 wsm 91-5718 10mm cranks. $395 91-5724 $800 forged 91-5706 $1000 billet 91-5726 why is a 5mm more then the rest? why is the wsm crank sold at 2 different prices? and whos forgeing's and billet webs are they using?
