To each their own on the ignition and I'm good friends with Tedder. I run the Dyna ignition and it works great depending on what you are trying do. I'm deffinately not a fan of their customer service.

The gearing may or may not be right. Depending on your primary gear ratio, over all weight & density altitude. To name a few things to consider. I would look at changing your rear tires. If I'm not mistaking that is a 10" wide tire. IMO that's too much tire for that combination.

Hi Pat,

Like I said in the pm I've only used Wilburns (currently own 5 of them) which I love but Dyna's will do the job also.

SlowerThanYou can help with your Dyna questions. We've killed cell phone batteries more than once chattin' about racing. lol

not to post hi-jack but its relative to the post, does that wilburn unit retard the timing at certain rpms so you can run certain big timing out the hole and bring it down as you go down the track

On your dyna do you have a launch limiter and what are you using to set it off? I've heard of something on the clutch perch, but what? Also i will be running on alcohol do i tune the bike and then install the computer or do it all at once? Also i have an adjustable timing plate, will this interfere with the computer or do i just turn one or the other down? Hope this isn't too much at once, like i said i have a ton of questions. Thanks for your input

We use a adjustable switched clutch lever. It can be bought from MPS or Pingle Racing. The non adjustable will work, but not as well as a dialed in adjustable.

As for your second question. IMO you should start out on race gas, but to each their own. As for doing them all together, that's your choice.

As for the adjustable timing plate, we leave ours at 0 degrees. Every once in a while we use it for a quick adjustment on the timing.

I've been drag racing too many years and a launch limiter is key in many areas. Here's a couple of examples: clutch tuning & reaction time consistency. It can be a handy tool for other things also. ;)
