coldsmoke
I purchased a new 'shee with a +4 durablue axle on it. the guy told me that banshee wheels dont fit the back and thats all he knew. i figured someone had put honda hubs on it. i tried to swap my +4 banshee swinger to that quad and found that the new axle has different splines and a larger diameter in the center. It makes me think that the axle as well as the swingarm are from another brand? id like to use the axle/hubs because they fit the beadlocks that came with the bike so i guess im shopping for a +4 swingarm for a mystery machine with a larger diameter rear bearing. Any help you guys could lend is greatly appreciated! hint, it also came with a 2 piston rear caliper as my banshee brake only had one piston. bansheesandrider
Is it a round housing carrier? Could be an oversize drag axle, like the one from JJ&A. You definetely need to get us some pictures.
coldsmoke
Swingarm pics http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x439/ax3883/012.jpg http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x439/ax3883/011.jpg http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x439/ax3883/010.jpg I have to retake the axle pics bc they were blurry. they seem to be set up the same, except the carrier has a larger internal diamter to fit the thicker axle. The hubs were very close to 4 1/2" on center when i eyed them up with the tire still on. the brake rotor was a smallier diameter than the stock banshee... about the same size as the rear sprocket. A larger diameter axle would make sense. Are the larger diameter carriers common?

coldsmoke
Nice... Its a 250R axle. A 250 carrier will fit in my swingarm for the swap right?
camatv
250r rear end. probably has 250r brake caliper OR some home brew stuff swinger KINDA looks like a lsr but the welds and rear carrier fitment is deff not their high quality. the 250r and banshee carrer have about a 1/8 differnce in the mount location ( if i rember right) most time its not bad it might eat sprokets a lil bit. i have one of these 250r rear ends. the r axle is much bigger but heavy. i DO like that the R has a cooler rear brake mount, axle nut on them looks not as clutter'd up like the banshee double nut stuff. So are the 250R and Banshee Carriers the same O.D? A 400ex should bolt into my swinger to allow me to use this axle if im doing my research right. camatv
the carriers i BELIEVE are differnt sizes but i think most have gone to a same size carrier BUT long time ago they used diff carriers in diff swingarms.. you should measure everything and then call somone like JJ+A OR LSR that builds multiple swingarm, carrier combo's
tedd1
Honda, Yamaha (Banshee,660, and older YFZ 450s) carriers are 87mm. Late model YFZs and Suzuki 450s, Yam 700s are 90mm carriers. CanAm, KTM, Polaris, DS are 95mm. I believe the YFZs went to the 90mm about '05 or '06? Most of the 87mm carriers accept 35mm axles. Obviously, they can be had for 40mm axles. The 90mm and 95mm carriers usually run 40mm axles. Look >HERE<
