AdrenalineJunky Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Looks like these cylinders are not virgins. Think they have been ported and if so is it a decent job or no? Just wondering. Quote
NYUK Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 well the intake side looks to be ported by stevie wonder racing, ray charles was holding the cylinder while stevie was grinding. lets see the exhaust and the transfers. Quote
AdrenalineJunky Posted August 24, 2010 Author Report Posted August 24, 2010 Yah I kinda figured someone was doing a DIY job on them. Quote

midlifecrisis Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 (edited) At first, I couldnt see the difference between a good job, and just a decent job, or a bad job. I sent my measurements that were necessary to one of the guys on this site, and he calculated a whole bunch of numbers that really made no sense to me at first. Now that I have been on here for a while, I get more and more of what he was talking about then. He told me that the pipes werent really a good match for the porting etc...( mind you, mine had the boost port done as well), and that the port job was more suited for a set of CPI's or something. The best advice he gave me though was, as unattractive as they may look, bolt them on, and see how they feel and perform, then decide on whether to pretty them up or not. Theyre not that bad, bad means seeing light thru the side of the cylinder, or an interior like a horse chestnut. By the way, these ones that I have arent pretty, but they frickin haul ass! TIM LUTZ Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 You know you can't really call it a bad port job if it can be cleaned up with a good port job. Just call it a un finished port job. No reason to toss your cylinders or anything. Quote
madjimmax Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 By no means should you toss them, it dont look like the person really took that much out of them. If I was you I would send pics to Jeff @FAST and see if he could clean them up for ya. If you think hacked up cylinders run good try a professionally ported set. Quote
RagunCajun Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 i lol'ed at stevie wonder racing Quote
