The stock gearing for a '98 is 14/41, correct?

I know a lot of people like to run 13 front for trails and woods riding, you might want to try that. A one tooth change in the rear makes a little difference, but a one tooth change in the front makes a big difference.

so change the front sproket to a 13 now to i have to change the rear sprocket too or will i be ok just changing the front one

im about to do the same. only change the front to a 13tooth. so you'll be running 13/41 gearing. you might be surprised what just changing the fron would do

front sprocket and back sprocket work opposite to eachother... smaller front bigger back for low end, and bigger front smaller back for for top end.... also, tires have a spot in the mix smaller tires low end, and vise versa
