smokin 421 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Welcome to the hq... the vito's 404 should be a 68mm bore u could check that for starters. stock bore is 64mm. but u should try to get the imfo from the guy u bought them from to see if they have been punched over at all since the 404 kit and what kind of porting he had done with it. powertripn Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 i just bought a used banshee engine and was told it had a Vitos 404 kit how do i tell what it actually is ? I have sold a couple of these kits on ebay and basically Vito's 404 kit consists of big bore sleeves and cast 68mm pistons. If you take the head off the pistons will have std. stamped on the meaning they are the standard 68mm pistons that come with the kit.If it has a cool head you will have big bore domes in it.Stock heads will work without mods using Vito's big bore top end gasket kit.
