robert0762
I was looking around at some other sites today and found someone saying how good there redone pipes look. They went through Performance ATV. Heres a pic of the work. I called them and he said 75 per head pipe I didnt get a price for thr stingers and silencers but thats a great price and they dont care if they are used and dirty inside . The last person I found that would even touch a used pipe wanted 250 per head pipe. Thats a brand new set of pc's. Just wanted to share the good news and hook the BHQ up Here is the web address also http://performanceatvandcycle.com/ Edited December 2, 2009 by robert0762

BigRed350x
If you're good with a welder you can tig a cap on both ends of your pipes, then most places will chrome them. When you get them back, just take a flap-disc and grind the caps off. That's a good price to chrome used pipes. Is it a full tripple plated chrome or is it a nickel plate? TideFan
Well, it's not chrome, but has anyone looked into getting the pipes ceramic coated? I was thinking about that if I bought a set of used pipes, because it looks like to me the chrome eventually rust and turn colors no matter what you do. I see that a lot of people powder coat their pipes black, but I haven't seen any ceramic coated. Nitroplate offers a bright finish that looks pretty good. All of them I have seen on drag cars around here seem to hold up really well.
SAVAGE420
because it looks like to me the chrome eventually rust and turn colors no matter what you do. My pipes are going on 6 years old. No bluing no rust just straight up blinging triple plate show chrome from from the cyls to the stingers. I take care of all my stuff i own though. Just like anything, if you treat it like shit, eventually it will look like shit. Note that i bought these used in great condition quite awhile ago also and i ride every other day during the season in gnarly terrain. Bunch a pics for the hell of it. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/Rockets011.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/ROCKETS003.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/ROCKETS002.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/Oct0209SNOW003.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/Rockets004.jpg My old T5's were 3 years old and still looked brand new also. No rust just chrome. Very light blue near the clys from the dick i got them from that ran his motor real lean and melted his top-end but i polished them right out to bling again after a while, but the chrome was not even in the same league as the triple show chrome on my pipes above. Still nice though! http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/Bansheeallcleanandshit028.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/Bansheeallcleanandshit019.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/Bansheeallcleanandshit007.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/PretrippicstoSandfest005-1.jpg
TideFan
hey savage, anything in particular you do to keep them looking like that? I'd rather have chrome if I could keep them looking like that.
Bansh-eman
If your not running lean they shouldn't blue. They may take on a little blueing right where the exhaust gases hit over a long period of time, but not too bad. Then after you ride/wash the bike spray some WD-40 on them and wipe them down.
