you have to change your compression and timing, i dont know to what but maybe someone else can chime in, i think the timing has to be set to +4

How would i change the timing, it that the plate behind the stator, and for the compression i have no clue on how to change it. Man this banshee hq is pretty cool and helpful.

assuming that its for race fuel only, you have a cylinder head with interchangable dome, and/or timing set at more then 4* the timing is thte plate. as for the dome, you need to drain you coolant and pull the head off to see what domes you have, or you can just check the compression and let us know what it is, some people sel their bikes as race bikes on race gas only, and its really not even necessary.....

So check your compression, and timing and let us know what they are set at. the timing mark is where the cases go together and let us know what the timing is set at on the plate.

agreed. you might not even need to retard your timing or put smaller domes in. just do as already mentioned and check where your timing is at and do a compression check.

On top of the head it says performance head, and i do know that it was port and polished. dont know the timing but will find out, for the elevation i think sea level or alittle below sea level, domes not sure but will check, and as for fuel 112 octane race fuel its like $12 a gallon. I dont know too much about this its all new to me. So if i sound like i dont know what im talking about its probably because i dont. I had a friend that knew all this stuff but i moved to san antonio so im depending on you guys for help. thanks.

LOL. If you in san antonio you elevation is 650. Lets start by what do you know about your bike. Is it stock 350 twin.

start by looking at the bottom of the cylinders to see if there is a thick aluminum plate/gasket. you are going to have to remove that head and see what size domes are in there. roll it over to see how much the piston sticks out. once you remove the domes, the number should be stamped on the side. then we can go from there

well, it is a 350 twin, for it being stock i know the owners before had work done on the motor. Im thinkings thats why it used race fuel. I did try using unleaded for a second there but it ran like crap. It has upgraded reeds and reed cage, toomey pipes, stock carbs but jets are i think 310 last time i checked, top of the motor where the spark plugs screw into it says high performance if that helps any. Man sorry if i sound clueless, like i said im new to this learning alittle at a time.

Thats actually a very good idea. Also do what heathen told you. post pics of that too, make sure the piston is at its highest point.

If its got wiseco piston look on top of the piston and try and make out the numbers, that will tell you if it had been bored or bone stock.

I was told compression ratio determines the octane you must use. It's not just what you see on your compression gauge reads. Correct me if im wrong....

Your partially right. But timming can be a decide factor. For example, my friend's banshee has 18cc domes an had +4 or +5 timming, cant remember, Vforce reeds and the cranking compression is like 175, the rest is stock, but everybody told use that we were crazy for running it on pump gas, 91 octane. We raced that bike every sunday for like 2 months straight he even took it on a 3 hour trail ride, never had a problem. But know we're running 110 because the timming got bumped up to +7.

Thats why we need to know what is done to the engine, dome size, bore, stroke. and timing. And that's what going to help him to see what he really needs.
