Havok248 Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 (edited) I wanted to make my bone stock, perfectly running banshee and make it better... and now im havin all sorts for problems. first off, I purchased some pods and 300 main jets, when i installed them the banshee wouldn't start and i found that my TORS was on the fritz, so i went out and got a removal kit, it seemed so simple to install and yet it was a complete bitch.. the biggest problem being the tap for the idle screws broke inside my carb determined not to give up i thought maybe i didnt need the idle screw and leave the shitty tap in the carb. i put it all back together and now im running on 1 Cylinder, coincidently, the one that has the borken tap in it.... i tried cleaning the carbs ( and did a beautiful job i must say  ) then i tried swapping plugs (didnt work).. so here i am.. What could be wrong? is it the broken tap in my idle screw hole? because honestly ill just buy some new carbs.. Some nicer ones. Edited August 19, 2009 by Havok248 Quote
qcklys Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Anybody? remove the broken tap with an extractor or something and redo it, dont waste your money on new carb Quote
Overboost Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 first, you dont need new, put in some good used ones and see if that solves your prob. if so then replace them with some that you want to keep you dont need the tors removal kit to get rid of it, that just the nice looking way to do it. you can just cut the wires at the carbs and pull out the module, thats all I did and worked perfect, I put in the removal kit later get rid of the broke shit and put in good stuff, start there, dont try and diagnose a problem with stuff you know to be bad in there. eliminate the obvious. Building my First Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Your probably running on one cylinder beacause the other is sucking air through the tap hole and running lean as a bitch on that side. Get that tap out and get an idle screw in before you run it any more and have to put a new top end in it. Quote
Rodneya Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Do you still have stock pipes. If all you did was put on pods with stock pipes, 300 mains are way too big. You need 220 or 230 mains Quote
Havok248 Posted August 20, 2009 Author Report Posted August 20, 2009 Okay, so now heres where im at. i didnt drill far enough for the idle screws to even have any effect. So as of right now the only problem i have is my mains are too rich.. but would this really stop a cylinder from firing? Quote
slopoke Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 could be are the carbs syncronized? Did you swap plug wires to see if prob moved? Quote
portingjunky Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 if only one cylinder fires when its at idle but they both fire at wide open throttle you have a clogged pielet jet. its the little little jet next to your main. o and i had that tors kit ounce also and i didnt use there adjust ment screws. i just adjusted them with the cable adjusters.
