Well, got everything put together on the bottom end yesterday! Mine came with 4 equal length springs. I put 2 next to eachother between forks 1 &2. The others on the outer sides of 1 &2. The one spring stops on the E clip of the stator side. Seems to shift thru all the gears perfect, nice and smooth.

The trans is 1 down, 5 up like a stock shift pattern. So do I just use the clutch coming out of the hole and shifting into 6th?

Again, Im new to the overrides and want to make sure my shits right before I take off in this thing!

if its a 1-5 dunable I dont think its gonna have 6th... the only ones I have seen with 6th are a 1-4 manual 5 and 6th or there are a few 1-6 over rides but from what I hear they are pos's!

Hmm, not really sure then. I know it clicks one down, and clicks 5 up. Everything seems to work smoothly JT, but then again Im not really sure what to look for. Ill have to ask the person I bought it from for more details.

are all the pins still on the shift star?

I know on my 2-5 wcr cut the 6th gear pin off so it would no ingauge 6th gear, said if it did on accadent it would lunch the tranny!

Hmm, Ill check it out and snap some pics later. Im glad I didnt mate the cases last night lol... Maybe it clicks into 6th but doesnt engage anything. Ill have to look at it more closely when I get home.

What do the springs between the shift forks do? Is this something that could be done to a stock tranny? Would it make it shift better or this only works with overrides? If so where do I get the springs? I have my tranny apart right now waiting on a new 2nd gear wheel. I already have the shift pro kit and modded shift star. Is there anything else I should do to make it shift smoother?

you can have every other dog cut off of the gears.. ask spurdy on here, he can get it done for you.. its suppose to shift a LOT easier than stock.. i have a tranny up at the local machine shop getting this treatment, the guy needed some parts i had, so he is cutting the tranny as trade for the parts.. dam i love to barter..

mine came the same way (4 equal length springs) one goes on the outside of the forks and two in the center.
