MILO Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) LOL, i'm serious bud. i've never had any oils left over like that before and i was just curious how long they will keep. i'm assuming they are fine to use, but let me explain why i asked.... a lot of guys that i know that store vehicles over the winter months will put fresh oil in before storing them, then change it out in the spring. supposedly the oil will break down and become acidic causing clutch issues and corrosion in the crankcase when left unused for a long period of time. i'm sure that's only with already used oil though, and that unopened, unused oil will keep for a long time. but it just made me curious as to how long it can be stored and used without any issues. flame away if you like, LOL. Edited March 7, 2009 by MILO Quote

Go for it, but if you're really worried about them, they don't cost a lot; give em to a bud and tell him you're doing something nice for him. Quote

MILO Posted March 8, 2009 Author Report Posted March 8, 2009 you guys are a bunch of smart ass assholes! funny, but still smart ass assholes  c'mon, somebody has to have some sort of educated, proven kind of answer. i've been asked about it before, and i've asked others before and everyone has a completely different opinion. anything from a year to letting your grandchildren inherit it, lol. i know that what i have will be just fine to use but somebody has to know something beyond that. you guys are letting me down here. Quote
BlasterKX Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 i dont think it will break down or anything seriously bad sense its still sealed. in my opinion id shake it up a few good shakes and then use it. its what i did with a 3 year old bottle of golden spectro oil and it seemed to be fine. the blaster still runs.lmao Quote
Building my First Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 A brand new bottle of oil should last forever. Even if it was opened it should be fine for a very long time, as long as it isn't left open collecting dust and moisture. Speaking of Golden Spectro, I have 8 (12 oz.) bottles I'll let go for $50 shipped. I bought a whole case then got introduced to Klotz and I love the smell so thats all I use now. Quote
