trex banshee Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 what is he charging for the case porting? Its definitly a good idea, but if he is gonna charge you an arm and a leg for it there may be a better route you can take. Quote
12mm Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 WHAT is case porting ? anyone have a pic of this ? Quote
2slow350 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 WHAT is case porting ? anyone have a pic of this ? Case Porting is definitly a must.. Jmo Prices range from 80-120 bucks, can be more. Oh and some builders like to epoxy them a little.. Quote
BigRed350x Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 WHAT is case porting ? anyone have a pic of this ? Its just matching the porting on your cases to your cylinders. Gets rid of the ledges and ridges caused by putting ported cylinders on stock port cases. Only takes a few hours to get pretty decent results with the right tools. If you go to the images section and search for ported cases you can find some pics of some I did a little while back. Quote

studroes Posted February 6, 2009 Author Report Posted February 6, 2009 it is going to port my cylinders to match for a 4mil, cut my domes, add boost ports to the cylinders, and do the case porting for $475 bucks. and he said he does use the epoxy when he ports his cases and he uses the best stuff he can and claims its close to $100 for the epoxy. that sounds expensive but he said its the best you can buy and if its gonna be stronger than you cant put a price on reliability. to me that sounds cheap comparing prices with other builders. what do you guys think? and as for the dog and peanut butter..give it a shot lol:) Quote

studroes Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 anyone have any experience with boost ported cylinders? how do they perform powerwise and is it worth the extra money to get it done? Quote
00tbanshee Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 i had a set that kevin from hjr did that i loved but to compare them to the same port work without the boost ports i don't know.any good builder could tell you around about how much they help Quote
studroes Posted February 7, 2009 Author Report Posted February 7, 2009 does $475 for all that work sound reasonable or pricy to you guys? the guy doing it is a buddy of mine so he is doing it all at cost at D&D. their porting is quite expensive to add the boost ports and with the domes and case porting i know he is giving me a good deal but how does that sound when compared to other builders prices?
