Photoshop questions

Hey guys, I've seen a lot of pictures that have been altered and put together with photoshop (such as sig pics) and I'd like to learn how to do that. I googled it and found a downloadable version called "Adobe Photoshop CS3". I was wondering if anybody else is using this, and what they think about it. Also, does it cost any money?...it doesn't mention that on the page.

If possible I'd like a little information on it before I install it on the computer. Any input would be great. Thanks.

Not to hijack your thread but I'd like some info from Photoshop users also. My wife wants to get me Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop Lightroom 2 but I don't want her to spend a bunch on the program if it's way more than I need. I do a lot with pictures and small video clips, have over 6000 now and growing. Kodaks Easyshare program has twice screwed me up bigtime.

I'm in need of a good stable program.

Any help woukd be appreciated.

Personally I wouldn't get Photoshop CS (buy it) unless you are Graphic Design and your career is using Photoshop, it is quite a bit of money! CS3 is a fairly new version and it is pretty good. I use it quite a bit for pictures to signatures and it works good. My brother and sister both use it as well being as they are graphic designers.

Try and find a torrent, or whatever with the actual CS3 program (I've scanned a few that are just viruses). Even if you wanted to try out CS2 that would work as well. CS3 is basically CS2 just with things moved around and the program looks different.

Thanks for the info, Dinner. I definitely don't need to spend a large amount of money on one, being new to it and all. Just looking for something to try out and experiment a little on pictures with. I'll check into finding a torrent with the CS3. Thanks again for the help.

No problem!

Do you have a torrent downloader, like BitComet or anything?

I've found that IsoHunt has some good Photoshop programs, however there is one on there that is pure viruses and shit!

Good luck

Actually I don't that I know of, was going to do some online researching about them. Kind of new to the whole thing, lol. Thanks for the heads up about the one IsoHunt with viruses, sounds like I need to be careful with what I add to the computer when searching and checking them out.

well dinner, if you use ISO hunt you know you can get photoshop cs3 for free on there :) lol. Maybe try that?? Of course I havn't done it.

That's what I was trying to say, go find it on Isohunt or something similar. Unless you have the money and feel like spending it on CS4 for shits and giggles, CS3 will do everyone fine.

I downloaded CS2.... got the keygen and worked like a charm.

Right on, CS2 is a nice program as well. The basic background and programming of CS2, 3 and 4 are the same, it's just they have changed the looks, upgraded some features, and you can do a bit more. For the average to it yourself person, either of them work great.
