My local mechanic gave me GearSaver Tranny Fluid 80W....what do you guys usually run for oil? I probably should have asked before I bought anything.

 

I live in Florida, and the temperature doesn't change much so "winter" thickness oil is not for me.

If I remember correctly I have ran both the 80w and 85w gear saver.. Havn't had a problem at all..

Seems to be pretty good stuff..

I personally like the gear saver. I have been running it in my suzuki for awhile and never had an issue with it. Its been around forever to. Plus its easy to see if you have a leak cause its bright red

I replaced it all, and took it for a test ride around the block...shifts like a dream. :biggrin:

i use honda hp 80w/85w. works good so far.

i run redline shockproof now but i used to run gear saver 80/85 weight, did me good for 5 years so i'd say your good to go!

Just make sure when you buy it your getting a straigh weight oil.

75w, 80w or 85w

 

Bel Ray has a 80w-90 gear saver too. It is a hypoid gear oil made for differentails.
