firebanshee Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 I use B&M trick shift trans fluid because it is blue and looks cool    Quote
Wiz Posted December 9, 2008 Author Report Posted December 9, 2008 I have used ATF also, used it for quite some time, I liked it also but was having problems with clutches so i changed (not saying AYF was the problem though). I was up at Lewie's @ twister and he showed me the inside of his tripple (he was doing clutch work) he had been running Redline for along time when i seen how well it coats I was sold. It is thin like ATF but with alot better adhesion and is made as a gear oil so it provides a better cusion between gear mating surfaces. if anyone would like to give it a try I highly recomend it. Here is the link to it give it a look... http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlub...mp;categoryID=6 Quote

Wiz Posted December 10, 2008 Author Report Posted December 10, 2008 (edited) it is not thick like gear oil though it is thin like ATF, the wieght ratings is not the same as it is in car oils. I believe that the maxima MTL is rated at 80 wt. also. I talked to the Redline Rep at dunefest this year and he told me the motor cycle oil is made for street bikes or 4 stroke quads where you oil lubricates the whole motor not just the clutch and tranny like a banshee. But after reading what is wrote about it makes me wonder.... Edited December 10, 2008 by Wiz Quote
