official_style Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) im about to order pipes for my 2006 shee. on my 97, i have the toomey t5s, 2:1 intake and jet kit, and i am very happy with the power. i was thinking of going with the t6s. are they that much better like toomey says? if i am planning on eventually doing some porting, doing the head with domes and timing advance should i even consider t6s? help me out, im ordering on monday! i also do pretty much trail riding, and dirt roads for hauling ass. official_style Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) also, on a stock motor bike, do the t6s really put out that much more power then the t5s do? if the t6s really do put out like 8 more hp and 5 more lb/ft of tq on a stock motor, maybe i should do them on the 06, and do the porting/reeds/timing etc to the 97. help me decide! 278 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 The t-6's are sometimes underestimated, but every builder I know plus right on the toomey site it says for stock only so you can do very little mods with the T-6's... maybe just like ported reeds or aftermarket reeds and maybe maybe if your lucky a head the head is really pushing it but anything more and the T-6's wont be making as mush as the T-5's. Many guys get the 6's mod there shee a little and will problem post on this saying that there is no problem with the 6's, but I bet if the put 5's on there shee they would make more power. Go with the 5's you'll want to go faster which means more mods Quote
sheerider1026 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 +1 on the t5's . i had t6's on my banshee when i bought it.. they got sold and put t5's on the bike.. it is trail ported, vforce reeds, +5 timing, head with 19cc domes, and a 2 into 1 carb.. its badass to just be a trail banshee.. definately get the t5's. official_style Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) kinda thinking T5s now. so a bike with port/head/timing t5s will put out more power then a bike with just t6s? Edited November 30, 2008 by official_style Quote
dajogejr Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Since you already have the T5 pipes, keep them. Otherwise, I'd tell you to get whichever you found for a better deal, 5's or 6's. They both work fine on stock or ported motors. You just have to tell your builder/porter which you're using. Quote
bansheefreak Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 i've had both and t5's are better pipe stock or ported... Quote
firebanshee Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 T5's all they way,i have a bike with them they work great.I ran them before and after the port job they work great both ways and had some buddies get T6's when they came out and they went back to T'5s. Quote
official_style Posted December 1, 2008 Author Report Posted December 1, 2008 where is the cheapest spot to get the t5 kit in black that comes with the 2:1 filter and jet kit? get it from toomey? Quote
jmiller Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 I have the T5's on my banshee and i am highly satisfied with them. I race my buddies that all have th T'6 pipes and i am right with them in the drag... The T6 pipes seem too be equal too the T5's the T6 may have a little less bottom end in my opinion. Quote
