my banshee will not start by kicking it over, i can kick it over until im blue in the face and it will not start, but if i tow it and jump start it, it will fire up and run all day. as soon as it starts and warms up it will start first kick everytime. it has brand new plugs, i cleaned the carbs and air filter and it still wont kick start while its cold. any ideas or sugestions on how to fix this problem. any feedback is much apprieciated. thanks

is this just since it got colder? i don't know what climate your in, but i know that when mine is above 50 degrees, it usually starts one kick. when it sits a few hours in below freezing temps, it takes 4-8 kicks holding the choke out as far as it goes. sometimes i tap the carbs, not sure if it helps or not. point is, that colder air needs more fuel, and cold cylinders are harder to prime with cold fuel. check your choke tube and richen 1 clip

If the jetting is far off, it will be very difficult to start...

I would start by checking compression. Worn motors are notorious hard starters when cold but much easier once warmed up...

i would test compression i had this problme and it was my rings changed them and bam starts first kick

i checked the compression today and it was 102 in the left side and 98 in the right side. and if im right stock compression is 130psi each cylinder so i guess im looking at a rebuild. thanks alot guys.

trent..if you're at or near sea level, and you're sure the compression tester is valid and the test is done right, yes...it's time.

A machine shop can measure the piston and measure the cylinder bore and tell you if you need rings, rings and pistons, bore, hone...whatever....

When my bike got to about 110 PSI...it was 5 to 10 kicks to start, it was tired....:)
