peterlocal22 Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 looking to hear what everyone wears for a helmet and a review if possible. i need a new one thanks peter Quote
JasonsBanshee Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 I've always used HJC for both my street bikes and Banshees. Quote
Paddleboy Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 they vary from dealership to dealership. i got the cheapest one (100 bucks still) HJC but it is comferible and holds the googles pretty well Quote
2001Stroker Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 I have a Thor Quadrant, with some Smith vented goggles. That helmet is very comfortable. I went riding today for about 4 hours, and my neck never got fatigued, and the cushion inside is plush. Most comfortable helmet that I've ever worn. Oh, and they're pretty cheap to buy. I caught it on sale for about $130 from MotoSport. Quote
someone82 Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 (edited) I run the No Fear Optimal 2 helmet and I love it. It's super comfy and i can wear it all day long, hot or freezing cold. It has an over-sized snout which gives you allot of facial protection, but doesn't keep you from staying cool on those hot days. Also my goggles which are dragon MDX's practically snap into the opening for the googles, so i have no problems with them shifting around. Oh yeah I got my helmet for under $100 at cyclegear Edited November 2, 2008 by someone82 Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 one industries trooper... about 250 bucks. well worth the money. this thing is lighter and feels better than any cheap helmet ive ever had.. Quote
dragbanshee Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 MSR System 6 Good light helmet great ventilation and the complete insides snaps out for cleaning, easy out, easy in. I'm thinking it was around 150-170 been a few years. Not sure what they have available now but I'm sure some nice ones. That one industries looks like a nice helmet, just have to check them out and see how the fit and feel is. Unfortanetly a helmet isn't something you can order through the mail for fit and feel unless maybe you find it at a local dealership or somewhere like that you could try one and get the right size and look. Then maybe you could go on line and find one a lot cheaper than the dealer. Depending on your riding if you like to get crazy on that thing dont skimp too much. Quote
MarineNYC Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 I rock the One Ind. Trooper as well. Def the siickest helmet ive ever owned. you will not be dissapointed Quote
OKCterror Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 i have 3 hjc's, 2 scott's, and 1 oneal. They all feel the same to me but the hjc's are lighter and i have a white flamed hjc that is super cool in the summer. Quote
T_Shee Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 oneal for me. got it on sale for like 80 bucks. Quote
Onesickcrewcab Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Arai VX3 is the only way to go. I've owned HJC's in the past and there not anywhere near as comfortable as the arai. Arai will set you back a good 400-500 bucks. All the pads are removable and washable. Great ventilation, and goggles fit well. It's only your head right? Quote
BansheeRider87 Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Fly Pro Lite for me. 200 bucks but got a discount from 259.99 Flat black with red and gray graphics I love it  Quote
NYUK Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 cheapest is not always best. why would you want to stick your head in a cheap helmet? a milcrate and a piece of clothesline will be the cheapest. Quote
jamebo Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Fulmer AF-R, I like it. I think I paid about 130 for it. Quote
