Titan up Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 For those of you that are interested, I installed a full DASA pipe, FCI intake and a Power Commander 3. I used the generic map as a basline, then had them tweak the air/fuel so this map is specific to my bike now. The 3rd pic shows the tuning at the 9 different throttle positions possible, so it's not a WOT tune only. These bikes make about 36-38 whp stock. Quote
RollinRhino Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 Dyno Tuning is hands down THE best way to do a deal like that. The numbers tell you when you got it right. Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 but those arent real world conditions. so when you go back out to ride, it will change. so then youre gonna have to make other minor adjustments. good numbers though. Quote
lilmegill727 Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 pretty good numbers the bike is looking good as of your sig pic. Quote
dragbanshee Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Titan that banshee is sweet, I really like the Kaw too. Have you done anything else to the Kaw besides the pipe and ect.? Quote
Titan up Posted October 19, 2008 Author Report Posted October 19, 2008 but those arent real world conditions. so when you go back out to ride, it will change. so then youre gonna have to make other minor adjustments. good numbers though. The KFX's are fuel injected and have an air temperature and an air pressure sensor in the intake tract that sends data to the ECM to make the minor adjustments in temp and elevation changes. The ECM on these bikes are only "smart" enough to adjust within a certain parameter. Adding a pipe and intake, takes the bike out of the stock operating parameter, so you add the Power Commander which is a piggy back programmer that plugs inline with the ECU and fuel injecter and intercepts the signal from the air sensors in the intake and add or subtract fuel. A custom dyno tune is really the only way to go on fuel injected bikes. Quote
dieselboost Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Wait until you do a port job, cam, and high comp piston then you will really love that bike! dajogejr Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 A near 50 HP 4 poke is one helluva fun ride for sure... You can do just about anything with it other than serious drag racing. Dune, trail...putz, etc. nice numbers! Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Was this an inertia wheel dyno or did it have a brake? Quote
Frogger Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Nice. Do you know how your kawi compares to, lets say, a YFZ 450 with pipe, intake and jetted? Are they comparable numbers with the same bolt on's? So basically will a fuel injected bike make more hp with pipe and intake than a carburated bike? Quote
Titan up Posted October 21, 2008 Author Report Posted October 21, 2008 Was this an inertia wheel dyno or did it have a brake? I just called to ask him that and he said it's both. Quote
278 Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Lookin' really good bro, wheres the numbers for the shee though haha  Quote
