  1. I was just wondering if anyone had tried this fuel in their ATV yet. It is 105 octane, but being 85% alcohol it is also corrosive.
  2. Did you try to ride it after you rapped on the carb bowl? Maybe you have a float that's sticking closed when it warms up and it's causes that side to run super lean or miss. Have you tried cleaning the carbs? How about checking the float height?
  3. Very good. Cracked me up!
  4. Congrats on both your wedding and iPod! Thanks for the info. I think I've decided to get one. I just haven't got around to doing it yet. I appreciate all the info I've got, though.
  5. It is easy! If you already have your swingarm off.
  6. I believe you're right. Is there room to move the upper mount inbound a fuzz to make up for moving the lower outbound? I'm nowhere near my machine right now, so I can't look.
  7. Or maybe use a limiting strap to keep from fully extending the suspension?
  8. I suppose if they had the right equipment they could do it, but I have a hard time trusting shops to do anything right. That's why I do my own work (not counting machining).
  9. According to the manual the main jets size on 1990 and newer is 200. Now, the next question is: are you the original owner? If not, I wouldn't trust that the jets are still the originals. If you are the original owner, I would check the float height. How long has it been doing this?
  10. Have you removed one of the jets to verify the size yet? I know you say you think it's a 200 or 210, but I personally never trust my own memory for something like that. I'd be staring at the number on the jet as I typed it on the screen. Anyway, without knowing for sure there's no way any of us could give you advise that would be worth a crap. No offense fellow HQer's. Also, it wouldn't hurt to check the float height as well before doing anything drastic.
  11. Yeah, in my case it was way more rich. I'm still going leaner.
  12. How have the FM transmitters been working for you guys? I've read some poor reviews about them. Anything from them breaking easy to constant static.
  13. Dude, I still think it sounds like you're running rich. Dark plugs and it runs good until it warms up? When I buy jets I get them in a five pack for about $22 through Dennis Kirk.
  14. That's what I'm talking about! I mean, the music would be cool too.
  15. I was thinking the iPod would be a good combination of capacity and durability. I was also thinking I'd get the one that you can view photos on. Just think of all the porn I could keep on there! Plus, I have several friends with iPods so if I want to play my music around them they have the docking stations and stuff.
  16. Thanks for the opinions everyone. I'm still trying to decide. I'm leaning towards getting the iPod, but I'm also trying to think if my Banshee needs something that costs the same amount. It's a tough decision.
  17. I'm a little confused. Are you wondering if the arms are interchangable or the shocks? The upper arms are not interchangable, but the shocks are. I used the shocks off my 88' frame (j-arms) on my 2002 frame (a-arms).
  18. I'm thinking about buying one, but I haven't decided yet. A good one cost between $250-$300. I could put that money towards my Banshee! I need some help deciding.
  19. I don't do hair scrambles. Nothing against them. I just don't have the time and money to do something like that. I've noticed that you seem to be the only one that really doesn't like the YFZ shocks. I've ridden a YFZ and like the way it handles and I like the way the shocks work on my Banshee. Maybe you had a bad set? Did you actually have them on your Banshee?
  20. You do know that a Banshee is not a submarine, don't you! Maybe some water is left in the crankcase? Needle valve stuck in that carb? Is it getting fuel on that side? Did you do a compression test on that side? Maybe the addition of water messed up the cylinder. Maybe a long shot but all the easy answers were already given.
  21. I just did that myself and I am in the process of getting the jetting dialed in. I've dropped several main sizes (I was running rich to start) and several idle jet sizes.
  22. You may be running rich in the warmer weather. I'd do a plug chop and see how it looks. Mine would do that too. Run good in the morning when the weather was cooler, but as the temp goes up the performance goes down. Leaned it out a bit and the problem is gone.
  23. They fit and work well with a little work. I have stock arms. I had to grind the upper mount a little to make room. For the bottom mount I decided that instead of grinding the lower part of the shock to get the bottom to mount up I used a drift and dented in the area between the mounting tabs where it mounts to get the clearance I needed. That seemed better than grinding metal away. I love the way the shocks work. It was a great improvement on a budget.
  24. I just put my YFZ450 front shocks on and they are a ton better than the stock shocks! Well worth the money!
