  1. Regular compressed air probably won't get it all out. Let the hot exhaust do the work for you. It's a lot more fun that way anyway.
  2. My guess would be that it is from all the kicking/poor running. The pipes are probably full of unburnt oil. Run it for a little bit and see if stops. Congrats on getting her running! You should have a blast now.
  3. Not to try and derail your train of thought on this but have you considered using a jumper wire (small gauge wire with an aligator clip at each end) to ground the spark plug instead of trying to hold it yourself while kicking and test for spark again? It would be interesting to know if the spark was more consistent when properly grounded. My wife's Blaster had trouble with not getting spark for every revolution of the crank and I found out that the flywheel bolt had not been torqued by the person I bought it from and the key got sheered off letting the flywheel get way out of time. I am assuming you have a new key in yours now.
  4. Once you get the new flywheel on let us know how shee sounds.
  5. Did you fix the problem of gas running out of the overflow? If you are flooding the crap out of it you won't get it to run even after putting the new flywheel on. Good luck.
  6. Okay, here you go. It is not a CAD drawing but it should get the idea across. I don't remember the hole size for the bolt but the tap size was 10x1.25.
  7. BTW, If you are interested, I can try to attach the bitmap of the specs for the insert.
  8. I bought a frame from Zilladude (I don't know if he still visits the forum) with that problem. He had another Banshee with the same problem as well so he had already figured out a solution. He had some inserts machined (about $20 each) that would replace that nut. We had to grind the end of the tube off that the original footpeg nut is attached to so the insert could be pressed in and welded. The inserts worked great and are much more stable than the original setup.
  9. That's right. Thanks for backing me up on this. All oils are not created equal.
  10. That is not necessarily true. With a lesser oil that could be the case, but running a fully synthetic oil formulated to run at 100:1 at 80:1 should be no problem whatsoever. The lubricating properties of synthetic oils like Saber give you better lubrication and better motor life with less oil. Besides, like I said before, I have been running it at this ratio for a year plus now and I have had no problems.
  11. I have been running Ams Oil Saber at 80:1 for a year with no problems. Less oil in the gas means more bang for the buck!
  12. Dennis Kirk also sells them. Dennis Kirk
  13. Yep, they make them for 9 inch rims too. I had 25x12x9's on mine for several years. I liked them, but they raised the center of gravity a bit.
  14. Think of it this way, if you replace it now you will have peace of mind plus it will be done right. Otherwise you may find yourself replacing it before you even get to ride it anyway not to mention maybe cleaning a bunch of anti-freeze off your garage floor.
  15. Does the outerwear compress the filter a lot? If it does it could be restricting the air flow.
  16. I have heard that the 35mm is more difficult to jet for non-modified engines. I know that on mine it seems like I had to put in real small jets. It still screams! I GPS'd it at 75.6mph a couple weekends ago with my big ass on it. It is still running a little rich.
  17. I have them on the front of mine and have had no problems. I sliced a sidewall by pinching the tire between the rim and a rock, but that is becaused of the rocky terrain. I was riding at the Iron Range in Gilbert, MN. Very sharp rocks everywhere. No holes in the tread though.
  18. Amen to that. Helicoils are the cat's meow if you strip the threads out of a hole.
  19. Hmm, I started running just plain Razr's this spring and have not had any trouble. They seem to have good traction and handling characteristics. Maybe it is just because of my big ass on them holding them to the turf?!
  20. I love my CV carb kit. I would never switch back. It seems to help smooth out the power curve a bit and it is a ton easier to jet.
  21. Thanks for the explanation. Very well said. That makes perfect sense. When it comes time to tear mine apart I will be using the TZ bearing. More balls is always better, that's why I own a Banshee!
  22. Could you enlighten me as to what a TZ bearing is? I don't think I have ever heard of that before. Thanks.
  23. I am going to Oklahoma on a business trip and am taking my Banshee with so I can mix business and pleasure. My co-worker that is coming with does not have an ATV and was hoping to rent one to ride. I noticed on the Little Sahara web site that the shop there no longer rents them out. Does anyone know somewhere reasonably close that would rent one?
  24. I was actually thinking of mixing it with 90/91 octane gas to get a little higher octane. I'm not sure if it would still be too corrosive even when mixed.
