  1. Seems like your pilot circuit. Did you put in some bigger pilot jets yet or are they stock. Stock is #25 and the next size is #275 and then #30. That's the first thing I can think of. I would try 275's then adjust air screws and get some 30's also just in case. Keep the needles in the middle (stock) position. Keep in mind installing bigger pilots will effect the main curcuits since the pilot circuits keep flowing throughout the whole throttle position range, so it could make mains a tad richer.
  2. bling bling!! I love that stuff too
  3. More info!! Was the engine/pipes warm/hot? Did you change anything over the weekend? Have you checked the packing in your silencers lately? You said fire came out of the right carb. Do you mean the right silencer or out the carb intake where a filter sould be? Was there a filter on it? If not then you're way lean asking for a disaster. Or if the fire came from silencer then I wonder if your silencers are saturated with unburned fuel/oil or it was a lean backfire. Just need more info!!
  4. You are too lean
  5. And get an Outerwear for that filter too!!!
  6. your at sea level & depending on the temperature where you are you need to get some bigger mains, 3 to 6 sizes bigger. Adjust the air screws too. Try this, ride it around with the choke pulled out to the first notch (half way out) and see if the performance improves in all throttle position ranges (0-1/4, 1/4-3/4, 3/4-full throttle). If it is better like that then you know you need to go with bigger main jets. Adjust 0-1/4 throttle response with the air screws. I don't think you will need to adjust needle positions. Be certain the air filter you put on is sealed perfectly and clamped tight.
  7. I AGREE!!!...man winchester bay and spinreel make glamis and st. anthony look like a childs sandbox!!!! the dunes out here in oregon have to be a good 1000'-1500' in elevation...whoa! Mike Ah man I'll have to re-jet after i get to the top.....LOL! Nice avatar!!!!
  8. Are these good A arms? Nice warrenty! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2454735639
  9. OK sea level but 30 degrees Celsius. That's pretty warm isn't it? Maybe Banchetta is right and you are too rich. Go back down to 280/290 and then do a 6th gear plug chop and check your plugs, best to use new plugs when you do this. Just don't get too lean whatever you do! But to me it seems with those clamp on K&N's that you would be pretty lean with 300's already. Be careful!
  10. Yes I know wallrat but a new head also gives some more bling factor, and i want to open up those water channels. You guys gave me good suggestions like handlebars and you are starting to talk me into shaving the fenders. They are still so new that i didn't want to do that yet. But a Banshee does look so much better when trimmed right. I think i'll do it soon. By the way wallrat your Avatar is awesome! Thanks guys!!!!
  11. I think i have 21x11x10 paddles. But i still have the stock ones for dirt and they suck. Anyway, Leadfoot350, your latest suggestion is where I am leaning. I want to do up the front sus and also get some bolt ons for the motor and I want to get some bling bling too.
  12. What's your elevation and temp?
  13. Thanks rebelbanshee2, I'll take that under advice!
  14. Lot's of excellent replies from you guys! Leadfoot came back and made a good case for the stroker motor. I like to go to web sites like Trinity's and look at their kit's. They make stroker kit's sound pretty cool and they make a lot of sense for having some low end ability and still keep the wicked top end, and some other good points about it too. But I am also a big believer in superior handling. My Zcar handles like a supercar but it only has 287 HP, well more like 300 now, and on a twisty road I feel like it's all I need. I mean because of it's great handling I don't need a lot more HP because I'm already satisfied. I just got my T5's & K&N's installed so I will probably be satisfied with that power addition for a little while. I'll do a stroker later, my stock motor is still fresh. I like jumping and duning and beating my friends with a Z400 & Raptor in uphill drag races. I wish i had Banshee friends to ride with. I'm thinking some Works triples with res's in front and +2+1 A-arms, I don't know from who yet. A Vito's degree key is inexpensive and maybe I'll get a head, don't know from who yet. I still have money left so maybe some bling engine covers. And I want to get the TORS elimination kit and parking brake blockoff. Hey guys what is the technique for cutting stock fenders? Hey leadfoot, why do you need to get 22x11x8 tires when you get a swing arm extention? And is +4 good for duning? Do you guys think the stock Raptor style handle bars suck?
  15. Hi guys, I am going to have some extra cash pretty soon and I want to dump some on my shee. Well i know all kinds of things i want to do but what will be more worth it right now? How about a $1500+ budget. Would you do engine nick nacks or full suspension and including arms, or anything else you would do? This would be adding to the mods I already have in my sig. Thanks. Oh, assume you prefer dunes! This is my bike now.
  16. Im out here in Northern California. It doesn't get all that humid out here but the air is nice and dense right now. 340 might be high but it's winter and i'm thinking with the clamp on K&N's I should try and 340's first and do the test. I think the lowest i will ever want to go is 320 mains and the highest 370's. 290's seems too low to me with T5's and that's why i thought maybe you should check if you were lean. But every situation is different.
  17. I have not even had the chance to install my T5's yet. But when I do i am going to try 340 mains first and 30 pilot, stock needles in the factory location and air screw 1.5 turns out. I ride at sea level. When i install pipes i will also put on my clamp on K&N's i have. I run 40:1 mix, pump gas and I use Red Line two stroke racing oil, synthetic. Engine is bone stock.
  18. Great!! let us know!
  19. Yes, I mean it makes perfect sense to me to need to know where your at. But my biggest concern is that you are running too lean. Not that you are and it doesn't sound like you are. But those plugs were old so maybe it is possible that it is all build up over time. Of course i wouldn't change any jetting until I did a nice clean test first.
  20. I got a pretty decent set of chrome T5's off of ebay for 350 bones. I got the whole set and he threw in some aftermarket clamps. A sheeweet deal, ha ha!! But yah if you check eBay their is always at least one set of T5's up for grabs. Just do a search on "banshee pipes".
  21. I really think you had better install brand new plugs and then do the WOT 6th gear chop. I doubt you can determine anything at all with those old plugs. If i were you i would buy at least 2 sets of new plugs. Do the test and see what you got. If you are a chocolate brown I would think you are pretty close or good. If not then a lighter color will tell you that you are lean but I'm sure you know that. Main point just get some new plugs and try it.
  22. Sounds like about what I was thinking. However I like to run @ 40:1 so if I do 340's to start then hopefully I won't be on the lean side, but right now the temp around here is more like 50's & 60's. I'll try that and do the plug chop test.
  23. I dunno but I just started thread asking almost same Q, except my pipes will be T5's and the K&N's. Anyway we are going to Pismo after Christmas and before new year. Hopefully my Shee will be set up w/new pipes and filters and jetted by then. PM me if you are available to go that week and you want to go, I know it's pretty forward but what the hell!!. I only like sand too. Need more Banshee friends definately!!!!
  24. Hello any smart Banshee Guy or Girl! Well finally after many months of quibling with myself I have purchased some T5's through Ebay. A nice set came up that were four months old and they had a "Buy it Now" option for $350. I went for it cause they are a beautifull set and after seeing how lesser T5 sets sometimes go on ebay for at least 350 I thought I might as well get these for 350 and no more BS bidding cause i think these ones would have gone for more. Well, OK enough of that justifying myself, LOL. To the question at hand, and I know this is one that has been answered for millinium. My Banshee is stock and I have a set of twin K&N filters (eliminate air box) to slap on when I slap on the T5 pipes & silencers. My main riding interest is dune riding/climbing @ Pismo Dunes in Ca. which is of course @ sea level. So, where would you start with main jets, pilots & needles position? Thanks guys, you are the best!!!!
  25. It's like "I would if I could". Thanksgiving was weeks ago and Toomey wasn't very "giving" with the TR6. And I have a new Poll. Who likes Jason Banshee's new sig?
