there are 3 tires that ive tried out here lately that ive found to be really great tires. hook well and last a long time. the tires are the itp holeshot hd, maxxis irazr and kenda gnarly. i would really check in to these tires. they can be ordered from rocky mountain atv for a real good price.

id go with t5's. decent bottom end and midrange and real good on top.

what kind of intake are you running? if you are running stock boots the carbs might hit the clutch arm. if you are running a boss intake then you are ok. i wouldtry www.proflo.com for carbs and shit. they are cheap and easy to deal with. not sure about the air box setup. im not sure if all the boots will fit, if not id just run an open air filter unless you are running in mud and water all the time.

ive never had any problems with my yfz450. my buddy has a 450r and he hates the kick start and he also has a cr250 so he doesnt mind a kickstart. hell ive got the cr500 banshee and if you can start that thing you can start anything, but i still dont like forward kicking the 450r.

oh i have to see proof. scrambler 500 are pretty fast

if you think doug gusts z400 is only 400 cc you are wrong. they have that engine built clear up to a 450 im sure. in fact its prolly more built up than most of the 450r and yfz450 it races against. i wouldnt be caught dead riding a 400ex. they are slow as shit and very underpowered even compared to the z400. i would bypass all these beginner toys and go with a 450, even if it is a honda...

the rockets are by no means smooth. when they hit they hit extremely hard and keep pulling hard. they are nothing like the paul turners. why are you so concerned with feeling the hit of the powerband?
