I talked to Mike @ ATV Galaxy last week and informed him of the problem with the rods. He said he would look into it.

Phelps and I just talked and we've both heard the same thing from reputable sources about Shearer porting.. However, we are not at liberty to release anymore information. But by all means, send your motors to Shearer for port work and pipes. If you hurry, you might just have them back before the end of 2013. Thank you and have a splendid day.

He took what, 5 months to get you an off the shelf set of production pipes? How long do you think it would take you to get a ported motor?

Starting fluid and a torch should do it.. Works on diesel truck tires anyway.

Just threw a 421cc Serval in my bike tonight for the small CC class at the National hillclimb.. Also put on some Rockets.. Man, these fucking things fit awesome. How is it that a guy with little to no experience can get shit right the first time.. Compare the stinger tube set up to Shearer or anything else for that matter. There is no comparison. Rockets trump them in every way. Everything fits perfectly with no rubbing. Let the hating begin!

So, he recommends the SB in-frames for a 10mm Cub? I know that mine loved the BB pipes and BigRed also ran BB on his.

I am starting to think you have a reading problem. I think we've pretty much established the only reason people buy Shearers is because they perform well. When I had my 18DMs built, Sniper hadn't even released a pipe yet. Redline said Shearers, so that's what I went with. You trying to compare Shearer to Sniper in a sales sense is absurd. Please tell me you're kidding. Snipers have been out for about two years. How long for Shearer? That's like saying Kia sucks because they haven't sold as many vehicles as Ford. It's just asinine. Cameron estimates it to be around 130HP I think. I've never had it on a dyno.

They do perform well. There is no denying that. You referring to this thread as "my Sniper thread" is silly. This isn't my thread and at the end of the day I don't care who runs what. I am simply informing people of what they may encounter when purchasing a set of Shearers. Some people do not have the means to modify their brand new pipes and need them to fit correctly. That's it. YES, I run Shearers. I have two 18DMs and a 10DM in my stable. They ALL run Shearers. They have all been extensively modified to fit. Both 18DM sets I cut the flange, repositioned and re-welded them so that I didn't have to scratch my frame all up getting them on and off. The set on my Hybrid were obviously customized to make fit so those don't really count. All my bikes have custom silencer set ups that I built and made clear air filters and frame rails. Your grammar and punctuation was much better in that post. It gave me less of a headache to read.

Alpinestar Tech 6 boots. Thor pants and jersey. One Industries helmet. Thor Goggles. Boots are very important. You guys that ride in tennis shoes are asking to get your ankle broken. Once broken in, riding boots are very comfortable. I would rather wear them than any work boot or regular shoe when riding. They provide much more support and actually make riding easier.

So, one case of CPI not fitting well is a strong argument that the Shearer's do? I think not. We've been going through this for a year now. Maybe we should start a list of just forum members who have had issues with their Shearer's not fitting properly.. Then, let's guesstimate all the people not on the forum that have had issues.. This shit isn't made up. I never said other pipe companies didn't have an occasional or frequent fitment issue for that matter. My whole point is that the leading pipe producer has a terrible fit and finish problem. That's it. That's my WHOLE point. I think it should be addressed. I think he should fix it instead of turning his nose up JUST LIKE TRINITY did. I find it ironic that you adamantly knock Trinity for their horrible customer service issues, yet you defend Shearer. Both successful companies, both poorly operated, who send out products that are KNOWN to be wrong, yet refuse to do NOTHING about it.

Every single one of those questions should be answered by your builder. You need to use the builder's specs when finishing up the motor.

The Snipers that Gary sent me had a DM flange but built around one of Jim and Gary's drag frames. The pipes mounted up to the motor and the hanger perfectly. The problem area was where the stingers met the expansion chambers. I would've had to do some pretty extensive modifications to get them to clear the frame rails and carbs. I could have done it but I am almost positive pipe performance would've been compromised. AS far as my Shearer's go, I just cut and turn a piece by the flange area that makes them clear the frame rail easier. Also, I built the stingers on my 18DM so I made them to clear everything. I have tons of room up in there. The BB Shearer's that I ran on my 10mm Cub, which are the ones on my Banshee now, had to be pried on and off with a pry bar. They hit the frame rails so bad that I would have to leave the motor loose, slide the pipes on and then snug everything up. Those things fit horribly. Not even close. Just more second hand misinformation. Why do people even post when they have no idea what they're talking about?

Thread stays. People need to know what they're getting themselves into when they buy a set of brand new Shearer's. Some people don't have welders and other tools to make them fit properly.

I don't give a fuck which pipe makes what power, Shearer's still fit like shit and there is no reason for it. He's like the captain of the football team fucking all the cheerleaders.. I have never in my life seen so many grown men fawning over another guy. It's fucking weird.
