  1. Yea, I think windycityjohn is annoying too.
  2. Haha, the fuck is that all about?
  3. Haha, per talking with my builder earlier, all this is funny.
  4. Yo guys, the first hillclimb of the year in Kansas is on May 19, 2013. The hillclimb starts at noon. The hill is located on the south side of 36 Highway between Wathena and Troy, KS. This event will be filmed by Time Warner for the Midwest market area. Don't miss out! We run 5 different ATV classes including: 2-stroke stock 2-stroke modified 4-stroke stock 4-stroke modified ATV Expert (pays back money) Bike classes include: Mini 50cc 65cc 85cc 125cc 250cc 450cc 600cc 4-stroke 750cc Open Senior If we need to add a class we will. This is an outlaw hillclimb. You DO NOT need to be an AMA member and there is no district. Just come and ride. Gate is $10 and each class is $10. We have a concession stand for food and drinks. There is a ton of parking and is easily accessible off 36 Highway in Troy, KS.
  5. Good luck. I haven't heard a word out of Tom in months. Last I talked to him he was going to step up production, but I think it's safe to say that didn't happen.

  7. Why are you dildos deleting your comments?
  8. John, are you referring mainly to peak HP? In some types of riding/racing, peak HP means little or nothing. I know that in hillclimbing, I am a lot less concerned with peak HP than I am a good strong curve off the bottom. Cameron dynoed the 18DM and it made anywhere from 136-141HP with my custom in-frame set up. The out-frames made about 6 more peak HP. The in-frames came on better and the curve was stronger down low. To me, that's more important than the peak. Is it possible, that in some instances, the BB may be better than the SB and vice versa? I'm just trying to think outside the box here and outside the realm of peak HP, which we all know is what most people are interested in.
  9. That fucking post is clear as mud.. What I gather is that on different motors, in different applications, with 100 different variables, BB or SB could be the winner. Which is basically what I've been saying all along. There are far too many people winning with both pipes to determine a clear winner for all set ups.
  10. Nice job! Looks 100x better already.
  11. Yea, there's not much you can do with your single arm front end. I would recommend Floats up there, but you're kind of out of luck. As far as the rear, I too think there are better options, but that's just me. I've changed a couple things this year so I guess we will see how mine performs at the BHQ ride.
  12. I'm never grumpy! I just like to discuss and shit. Yea, what green bean said...
  13. Why are you bringing up stock suspension? I brought Shayne's Ziggy chassis down from 12 o'clock last year and the Floats barely hit bottom and it was smooth as can be. I'm sure that bike is as long or longer than yours or CK's. Comparing whoops across the first 100' of the race and whoops across 300-400' is a totally different story. You're talking a difference of 40-50mph most likely.
  14. No, I don't think so. I always wear riding boots when I hillclimb. My foot slipped off the peg at Red Wing last year and the tire about ripped my leg off. Maybe that's what you're thinking of. When I rode camatv's bike at Snakehunt last year, it came down on me just like CK's bike is in those pictures and it nearly broke my ankle. That's why I have concern when I see set ups like that. I really don't want to see anyone get hurt. Do you have a lot of issues with keeping the front down? Is this your new motor?
  15. I'm not saying you're complaining. I am saying that a shock can be set up to do the same thing. We're not talking about ramping anything. We're talking about soaking up the rough shit. These pictures below tell a different story as far as this set up goes.. The chassis is bottomed out. Great way to break a foot or ankle..Or flip the bike over as Gary experienced last year. And sorry, but not a chance your Shaws are going to handle whoops like my Fox shocks will. We can test it in September if you want.
  16. You can achieve nearly the same effect as a Shaw in the rear with a properly set up rear shock. And then on the big end it will perform better. I'm no stranger to making a bike hook and go as the hillclimbs require a good hard launch. The problem with the second line is that in the dunes there are whoops and bumps. They can't be avoided, especially on a busy weekend. Everyone will run what they know or want, I just hope people realize they don't have to get beat up all day to be one of the fastest.
  17. There is a huge misconception among people in thinking that your bike has to ride shitty in order to go fast. Everyone thinks that you need Shaws or struts to be fast, but I have proven this to be entirely untrue. Sure, at the strip you should be running rigid or Shaws. In the dunes is a different story. My bike is fully suspended and weighs around 360 pounds but has no problems keeping up with the light weight, Shawed or strutted drag bikes in the dunes. Suspension set up is important. Front shocks that absorb impact will help the bike stay straighter and go faster. A rear shock that is set up stiff to transfer power off the line can be just as effective as a Shaw if set up properly. On the big end where the Shawed bikes start bouncing around is where a suspended bike will really shine. Fouledout's bike had the Shaw in the rear for the HQ ride and the Floats up front. I rode it and it is easily one of the fastest bikes that comes to the HQ rides. Even having the Floats on the front is superior in the rough stuff. I would put money on it performing the same or better with an actual rear shock, especially considering the way my bike runs with one. I know that with a single arm set up shocks are not an option. I just wish people understood that you do not need a shitty riding bike to be fast. Furthermore, the suspended bikes are safer. I have yet to see a suspended bike go end over end because they got caught in some rough shit. One bike every HQ ride ends up getting wadded up and they always have Shaws.
  18. I agree. People should stay back. I like running 400'+ though.
  19. Even those Shaws you guys run are bad for LS. I won't even ride a bike with them. Risk of eating shit is too high.
  20. Yea, there are some guys out there that do it. Extremely stupid. Pogo sticks at LS = stupid. You have suspension. No worries for you. I run my shit WOT and never even think about humps and bumps. My shit soaks it up. Yea, it does. A stupid one.
  21. Shocks will make that trip much more enjoyable.
  22. You know what fixes the WHOLE strip from start to finish...
  23. Oh they'll be there!
