  1. I know, I am getting anxious to put it in a roller but I wil just have to put it in my old frame. I want to get everything mounted up, hooked up and positioned where I want it, get her fired up, and ready to go so when I do find a roller or get my new shee I can mount and go Chris Bogart: how does your RZ fare against similar mod shees??
  2. Thanks Guys for the input. WOW RNBRAD that link was awesome. It looks like the differences in the American and Canadian versions are related to Exhaust pipes and intake system due to Emissions. That is cool since the RZmotor is going into a banshee I guess it doesn' matter what type of RZ motor you have. Stock for stock with same exhaust systems both should have equal HP at the crank. Anyone out there have a Ported RZ motor in there shee and how does it compare to a full mod banshee? I have sent some parts to Patriot for the following and are hoping to have returned sometime in late April. Ported, MX/Trial Head cut and rechamfered Powervalves ported Crank trued and welded Pro-x pistons, (coated) Stock bore/ .10 Bolts ons Rocket pipes V-force reeds 28 fs Mikuni. I know this set up with my FMF banshee runs good but unfortuntely I won't have the RZ motor into a rolling chasis until next year. So just curious. Chris
  3. Guys, I am in the middle of my RZ350 project motor and occassionally I hear that there is a difference between the American and Canadian versions. Does anyone know what the differences, if any, are? Thanks for your help Chris
  4. Pro-x no doubt, Have used them for years and no issues, Alot of people I know up here in NY use Wiseco, Have had numerous problems with the Ring pins fallin out and POW. Of course everyone has there preference Chris
  5. I am from neither, but ride alot on Tug Hill. Won't be up there until after mud season though. Chris
  6. Tom, Lets say you can't sell the business. Does this mean no more Rocket Pipes?? Got to know! The RZ motor is beign built as we speak and need a set of Rockets!! Thanks. Chris
  7. PM sent!! Chris
  8. One thing to remember here that is always overlooked is cost!!!. PTR are probably a bit better then FMF Fatty's in the low end but they are also $300.00 more than FMF's, in which I can not justify that $300.00 extra for those pipes. For that extra $300.00 you can buy v-force reeds and have money left over for a hig comnp head. Just something to consider. Chris
  9. 100 % agree with Sredish on his list and the other guys on Fatty's , I have FMF (Gold series ) on my 89 and the low end with Sredish mods are great. Very rarely have to use the clutch to get moving. Hit the gas and hang on the low end and mid is great. From my experience the FMF have good rev on top but probably not as much pull as a REV pipe. They are more of a 0-60 mph hour pipe then hold it wide open for 10 seconds and slowly go faster. They are more of a faster you shift the faster you go pipe. I like them espceially for fire roads and traill riding, you can ride a gear high hit the gas and gone, you do not have to shift a zilllion times. Ride the shee just like 4-stroke in the woods. I spent several month last years researching this topic, looking for new pipes for my next shee and of the 20 plus manufacturers FMF I felt was the best all around pipe period, Plus thery are reasonalby priced. Chris
  10. Wassup, Keep the banshee sell the sled (since you have no snow up on the hill) $2700 may be a good price if in good shape. If you want to spend that I would suggest go to wantadddigest.com and you will find 2000, 2001 and 2002 banshees for that price what the posts say are mint. This area covers, Utica/Rome, To Albany and back. Hey, going to Tugges this weekend? 5 year anniversary!!!! Should be women everywhere. Chris
  11. Thanks Broke, Just trying to confirm this. Since the RZ motor had so few miles on it everything internal looks perfect. I don't want to put alot of money into the crank, cylinders and head into banshee cases and something go wrong and POW. Since RZ's are rare I would like to keep it RZ as much posible. Unfortunately I am not going to be able to do that with the cases. I thought about the gearing and thought I could compormise with the external sprokets. It is pretty much going to be riden on open areas but will see some trails. The RZ is going to be more like a Miss Daisy. It probably won't be ridden much since I really like my 89 shee and will be ordering a 2006 in June. But it is different and that is what it is about for me. Chris
  12. Thanks all, I sent Meat a PM. Chris
  13. Thanks Minkia, I do have the gaskets (Hard compound) that go between the flanges and teh cylinder. Off the subject, Can I use all the guts of a RZ motor and put them in banshee crankcases? Chris
  14. I accessed the banshee zone web site but found no way to get a hold of Meat. Does anyone know is e-mail address? Chris
  15. "banshee Zone", great idea. I will try there later. God i hate when people who have no idea what thery are doing can screw up such a rare motor and cost me more money. BASTARDS!!!!!!!! Chris
  16. Thanks broke, I am not to worried about the tach. All the componentes in the RZ except for the crank case is in perfect condition and was curious if I could take all the RZ guts out and put them into a set of banshee cases. I have torn apart both and I don't recall there beign any differnces. Chris
  17. Does anyone know what the differnce between the banshee crankcases and the RZ crankcases are. From what I was always tod they are exactly the same. On the RZ motor I bought I noticed that some idiot decided to pound in a crank seal instead of splitting the cases to change it. The inner part of the case doesn't look bad but the outer seal part looks pretty beat up. I looked under a vendors catalog and they wanted $721.00 for RZ Cases and $480.00 for banshees. If Banshee case are the same where is the best place to buy a new set? Chris
  18. old school, Bought mine in 1990 for my shee. Per FMF they are the same pipe as today's Fatty's Chris
  19. Meet, Thanks for the pictures. . One thing I thought about today, I have 2 tubes cut and 2 flanges drilled and what I started to think about is if the tubes coming out of the flanges need to be at a 90 degree angle or not which I am assiuming is yes. I do not have the pipes yet nor have I mounted the motor into a frame so I do not know the answer and I do not want to weld at a 90 degree angle if the angle needs to be different. Can anyoine shed some light on this. Chris
  20. broke, I tried to do what you did in terms of I went to a salvage snowmobile shop but they did no have anything exact and at that point I just decided to make my own. Took 1/4 plate and took the hols saw and the first one took me 30 minutes to drill through but the 2nd one took 15. Had to then girind a bit more out with the dye grinder so the 1.75'OD pipe fit snug. I am making a third flange this weekend and then giving to my buddy to weld her up for me. I will then get the band saw fired up and cut the flanges to be a bit larger than the gasket. I will fianlize the lenth of the tube when I get down the road. Thanks for the washer Idea, I will keep that in mind. Chris
  21. Thanks for the info on the O'rings, It looks like I have the right OD tubing. Regarding the bracket for the upper pipe spring I thought of that, but until last week I didn't have a solid idea. My plan is to leave the top of the flange plate flat in that area and a buddy recommended that I take a hook and weld it to the top of the plate. The hook he suggested was the one that you find on drum brakes on a car. That little hook that pushes throught the backining plate that you slide the brake pad over. Right now I think that is a great idea and the direction I am heading towrads. Do the thicknesses of the plate and tube i metioned in the my first post seem accurate? Chris
  22. Common guys, I know there are a few of you out there that have done this. Chris
  23. I am in the process of finishign my exhaust flanges for the RZ. I have already drilled the holes in the base plate that I am using for the 1.75" tube that I bought at the mufler shop and just wanted to varify with those that have done this if the 1.75"OD pipe is correct for Rocket Pipes. I have already fit them up to my FMF's and they are perfectly snug with the o'rings in the pipes. I have never seen the flanges on the Rocket pipes so I do not know if they have O'rings. Through my limited experience with other pipes I have seen that the non O'ring versions are a bit larger on the ID and I don't want more than the standard play allowed between the exhaust flnage and where the Rockets slide over. Also I used 1/4" plate and 1/8 tubing. Does that appear Ok. Thanks Chris
  24. The RZ 350 motor bolts right into the banshee chasis. The wiring diagrahm you are lookign for can be found in the following; Go to the HQ search Type in "Rz350 Gods" I found this last month and the date at that time was found right on Jan 21, 2004 As far as the valves I am not sure it will work with out them. Plus it makes no sence to put RZ 350 cylinders on a banshee base unless you want to use the powervalves. Chris
  25. Where are you located? Chris
