gaskets same as stock,Rocky mountain atv, dennis kirk and many others carry replacements.

I heard that too.I currently run Namuras in one of my shees, but I'm running a stock head. With some light porting, the compression turned out to be 125psi on standard bore,It would have probably been around 140 without portwork.I run .0025-.0029 clearance on the bores.I would not recommend them for over 145Psi.The crown is very thin. The midrange punch this engine has with Fatties, v-force and lightened flywheel is sick.Climbs hills like a 4stroke.

Sheer curiosity... What religion are you QUIZ!

Not a fan of PS,I guess theres alot of info on there if all you do is drag, but dragging only makes up about 10% of how I ride my shee.Drag racing can be fun,but the challenge is limited. Not to mention, the banshee is only a small percentage of the quads that make up planet sands riders. I think theres more technical and banshee related info at the BHQ.Most of us trail riders or racers could care less about cheetahs and alky powered machines, sure their a site to see,but they wouldn't fair too well on a mx track or the woods of northeastern USA. I think BHQ is good for the bashee rider who utilizes there machine in every aspect of riding, whereas PS is for the straight up drag racer.

The original Raptor engine was derived from a european streetbike. The streetbike engine got fuel injection over a year ago.It was going to be implemented sooner or later. I think its great, the 450's will have nothing on the Raptors period. That raptor engine is so corked up,I'm willing to bet you can get very close to 60 h.p with bolt ons. It will be the end of rejetting

Went back to Hatfield Mccoy trails last weekend in Gilbert WV.Had a good time up until I rolled my banshee.Arguably the greatest trail system I've ever been on. Unfortunately the shee didn't make it through the weekend.Soaring temps and extemely high humidity nailed the koffin shut on my baby. The last time I rode it was in April-May.I recall the temps were very mild,60's or so.Shee was rippin back then, add 91 degrees and 80% humidity and shee ran like shit until nightfall came.I just could bring myself to rejetting her after I got there. To make a long story short the engine bogged down on a steep hard climb about 3/4 ways up and died.I bailed, she came crashing down on me and back flipped down the hill.It landed square on the steering head, pushing the frame back so far it buckled the tank plastics. It was the only damage that occured, but the frame is irrepairable. I bought her new.I have approximately 150 hrs on this machine and its the first time I've rolled it.I took care of it like it was the only thing in my life. I will be parting it out after the insurance company appraises the damage.Everything on this quad is tight,I never let a bushing or bearing get sloppy. The engine has a fresh top-end with less than 10 hrs on it. Other than some bolt ons(FMF pipe,Vforce reed,+4 timing,Proflow,Works,Namura PP,full skids, etc) its pretty much stock. If anyone is looking for anything specific, let me know, otherwise its all going on ebay. A 4 stroke will replace my banshee as my new "trail" machine.Looking at a Yfz450 or possibly the new Raptor 700R. I still have my other two,but that will be reserved for ass kicking sessions only.
-
I run Namura PP in my 01' there a rip off of Vitos PP except the domes are not as thick. They are alot lighter than Vitos,a good replacement for a "bolt on" engine.I would not recommend them on anything else. They don't look like they can handle it.

IMO... A forged piston will outlast a cast one.(Debateable) A forged piston is alot noiser than a cast one. Forged pistons need more operating clearance than cast.Usually .0035-.004 You can run cast with .002-.0025 clearance and no more than .003. Forged pistons will rattle a bit until the engine reachs full operating temp. Forged pistons are much more dense than cast, which require more heat soak for proper expansion. Thats the ultimate question..Forged or cast? I run both types in my shees.Application varies.IMO cast are best for bolt on mods(pipes, reeds, timing, airbox) I reserve forged for ported or raised compression engines, otherwise there overkill. Longevity?Thats probably a draw.I've had cast piston 2 strokes that lasted as long as forged ones.It all depends who rode the machine and how they took care of it. My only gripe with forged pistons is the added wear the bores recieve.Forged pistons are alot harder on bores.I usually get 2 top-ends on cast bores and there within specs. With forged I'm always right over the specs and probably should rebore.

Then go buy something else thats different, like a raptor or Z you prom queen.

If you need specific bore sizes, call there tech line. The will give you "target" bore and piston sizes +0/-.0005

A friend went with the GYTR kit.155/160 main 25 pilot,2.5 turns out on screws and GYTR needle middle clip.Excellent setup with K&N powerlid. If your still running the lid, remove snorkle and go with 150/155 main. You can still use stock pilots 3.5 turns out with lid on. No lid at all and 160/165 main.

Heres another of 4 different plugs. 2 of them have a few hours on them and the last 2 are wot plug chops. You can tell by the plugs, which circuits were rich/lean. The wot plug chops are hard to see,but they have a light black halo around the base and thats where I left it.
-
heres mine after a day of riding. The wot plug chop had a translucent black halo. After a day of riding, the ring has become much darker.Probably on the rich side, but it pulls hard until the Pc pipes sign off.

Your transmission oil has alot to do with the cold and warm thing.Oil shear clutches tend to creep when the oil is cold. This is normal,as the oil warms up it causes less friction between the floating plates, eliminating the clutch drag. The next thing I'd be looking at if the adjustment is correct and the cable is good would be the pushrod and ball. Your problem might lie in the clutch arm were the cable hooks up to.Theres a bearing in there that may be partially frozen,or the shaft might be gored up.I had a similar problem with the the shaft, it had wear marks from the rollers in it.

Piston clearance must be checked.A fresh 65.25 mm bore from one machinist will be different from another.Quality of work being the key. The power piston skirts are alot shorter, but just as thick. The vitos pistons have a very thick dome, good for higher compression(I ran 180psi) and durability, the down fall is the weight. They are almost as heavy as forged pro-lites. The Namura cast pp is a very light piston, noticeable lighter than the vitos cast power piston or wiseco pro-lites.I would not recommend them for anything over 140 psi.For near stock compression and porting, they work great.
-
It kills wellsville.Wellsville only covers about 2500 acres. This place is wellsville times ten. There are trucks and buggies at firebrick too.
-
Those power pistons skirts are very short. If your running clearance is somewhat excessive, then do not run them.I recommend a maxim of .0027-.0029.Anything more and they will really wear out fast. Not to mention they will rattle more when cold. I know they bump up the comp about 12-15psi.They really bring in the midrange hard.Add a set of fatty pipes and vforce reeds,+4 timing and a lightened flywheel.Thats how my 01 is setup and it just tears up the woods.

The place is just north of the Telegraph trailhead(Pine Creek WNF) off route 93.Approximately seven miles south from Oak Hill,Ohio. If your heading south from Oak hill on route 93,look for a big Wayne National forest sign.Right after that you see that sign, take a right on the first street you come to(county road 140,I believe)You'll see a sign pointing toward Bellville mine.Take the access road back and you'll come to a scalehouse. You'll see trucks parked all over Sundays are the big days, but theres a few folks riding on saturday too. Its well know among the people of that area.A banshee playpen is the best I can describe it.Some dirt trails, grass trails and gravel trails, lots of sweeping hills and turns.Probably the only time I've ever kept it underpower in 6th for a few miles. Hillclimbs favor a heavy front end,I'd be leery to try some of them on these new 4 strokes. Mud pits are literally pits. Not recommended for any shee. The place can be dangerous if you've never been there before,so venture around slowly until you get your bearings and don't get lost. There are usually a few EMT's out there on Sundays, their out there riding too,but they won't hesitate to help injured riders and do a good job of controlling the situation.Oh yea,Life Flight is familiar with Firebrick.

I too used racelogic templates and I was very impressed.I took my time over a weekend porting my jugs.I will never pay for portwork again.I did two sets of jugs. One got the transfers done, and one didn't.Two totally different powerbands.I'm working on another set,but I'm changing the portmapping a bit to taylor the powerband. Most definitely worth the 50 bucks I payed for a used set.If your dexterity is very good and you have good attention for detail, its not hard to get good results.

Need advice........Pro Circuit pipes, K&N
Nightrider replied to REV-I-DOO's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I had Pc pipes on both my shees at one time, totally different machines, but the setup was still the same. Both had K+N filter, modded airbox 27.5-30 pilots,300-310 mains, stock needle in the 2nd clip from top.(one notch leaner than stock. Was really hesitant about leaning out the needle,I thought for sure that it would be the opposite, but it was the only way to get the middle/top of the porcelin a choco brown and eliminate the light stumble. One had Pc pipes,k&n,vforce,140 psi,+4 timing, stock piston, modded airbox. The other had Pc pipes,k&n,boysen rad valve,170 psi,+4 timing, power pistons, modded airbox With the exception of one size on the mains, they were setup exactly the same. -
Anyone familiar with Firebrick aka Bellville mine. Its across the road from the telegraph trailhead of Wayne National forest . We rode there yesterday and it completely blows away anything I've ever seen.It was my first ride there, met up with a good local dude and showed us around. He says the big day is sundays. They usually get 300-1000 people out there. The "highwalls" they call them are 90 degree up hill climbs that bikes actually jump up.There hitting jumps at the bottom of the hills about 60+ miles an hour and landing on the flats on top. Never seen shit like that before as long as I've been riding, make those huevos videos look like amateur reels. Firebrick has it all.Mudholes, flats, fireroads, hillclimbs etc.All on about 20,000+ acres. We parked by the scalehouse off of county road 140.If your heading south on rt 93 ,its the first road on the right after you pass the Welcome to Wayne National forest sign.No problems with the law, they don't seem to bother anyone down there.

The "Click it or Ticket" Campaign....
Nightrider replied to stclark816's topic in General Banshee Discussion
We have had that law for 10 + years in Ohio.I don't think they really enforce it.Rather than pull you over for no seatbelt, they will find other citeable violations to pull you over for.(like no front plate, obstructed rear plate, failure to signal when changing lanes etc.) Then they throw you the line...Well,I'm gonna let you go on this petty violation, but I'm gonna have to give you a ticket for a seatbelt. You won't get any points, but you'll have to pay a 75 dollar fine. They make it sound like there doing you a F*cking favor.I have great respect for the law,if for no law,the roads would be a white line nightmare, like in The Road Warrior.Actually that would be ok too. -
