  1. Ohio honors Michigan registration stickers, but Michigan will not honor Ohios registration.
  2. SAM97,were both sides of the road open?I was there a few weeks back and the trails across the road was closed for logging.Been wanting to go back out,but wasn't sure if they were finished. Its a small place called Maumee state forest,it can be found on ohio DNR website. Good place for tuning engines.Big enough to really let em rip,yet small enough for a breakdown. There are alot more trails in between the marked ones. You just need to keep an eye for connectors.
  3. I change my V-force every year.It depends how you ride.If your "into"excessive over revv or you run wide open trail, your probably gonna eat up reeds alot faster than Joe trail rider. I like a snappy throttle and crisp power in the lower rpms,so I change them often.
  4. Its probably your clutchshaft bearing.Does your oil come out gray/silver when you change it?If it does, then you may have a bad bearing. The reason why the noise goes away when the clutch is pulled,is because the pushrod helps to stabalize the basket. The gray/silver in the oil is actually metal particles from the clutch/crank gear. Had this problem last year with my 87'.After I changed the bearing, the noise went away and the oil comes out as clean as it goes in.No more metal coloring. I ran mine like this all summer before looking into the problem. The gears showed very minimal wear as a result.
  5. this is what I run.all total,A 35 dollar investment.Cup,mech gauge, custom tee.Lasted 3 years before gauge crapped out(copper tube pinched). The headlight gives good protection too.
  6. I'd say the biggest problem with mikuni flatside is also the needle jet,as stated by someone in an earlier post. If you've never tuned a TM before, make sure you get an assortment of needles. You'll need em.
  7. Thanks Jim,I spoke with a Wiseco tech guy and he told me that the target bore size for.040 oversize was 2.559,the target piston size would be 2.556 +0/-.0005.They also advised a minimum .003 clearance.
  8. Wondering if anyone knows what a .040 wiseco prolite really measures.Or should I say..is it truely 2.550.(with a zero'd mic of course) Any info is appreciated.
  9. I disagree, anytime you add or remove weight from the fly wheel your altering the rotating mass. This will directly affect the engines powerband by way of a softer hit or harder hit. The more mass, the longer it will take to reach powerband. Also providing tractable power on loose surfaces The less mass, shorter rev up time needed to reach powerband.Ideal for high traction conditions. The banshee crank is no different than a conventional counterweight/counterbalance single. There just balanced different ways.A banshee uses another crank journal offset 180 degrees.A single uses a counterweight/counterbalance to balance itself.
  10. Thats true, but what it does is give the engine a more linear powerband.Sometimes when traction is limited or the terrain is very aggressive,a heavier flywheel will make the engine less pipey. I've only seen this on open class 2 strokes, like 500 hundys and such. The one thing I noticed on uphills was I use to be able to feather the throttle towards the top of the hills. Now I have to make sure I carry the powerband until I crest it. Other than that, its a great mod.Less rotating mass=less hp lost
  11. Great mod,add a lightweight set of pistons and theres definitely "seat of the pants"difference.
  12. I converted my 87 too.I was tired of replacing the bushings every year.I bought a kit off someone on the net and had a bike shop weld them in.
  13. There worried about a small 20 cent rubber diaphram. What they should be recalling for is the junk trannies in the 01's.Cheap f-ing bastards.
  14. I got ticketed once for riding off road on a undesignated trail and it cost me 175 bucks. That was the last time I ever went off the designated trail, but what really pissed me off was the fact that I had to show proof of liability insurance and it went on my DMV record as a moving violation. There wasn't even a paved road with 10 miles of where I got busted. Then I was so pissed about the incident, that I lost focus later and laid my bike down on a turn, crushing a brand new pipe.Another 175 bucks. Moral of the story, obey all traffic laws,on or off road.
  15. Amen to that, any reed cage that requires reed spacers to reach there full potential are obviously lacking in something. Not to mention how they tested the competitors reed cages. Why did they have a special test for v-force and pyramid reed cages?Probably because it was the only way they could rig those numbers for the G3's. Don't waste your money on a half right reed cage.
  16. Yea,like a diesel until it warms up.Or like gnomes with tiny hammers trying to break there way out.
  17. I ran pc pipes on my 01' With v-force reeds, pro flo foam filter and vented airbox lid..I ran 310 main,27.5 pilot,1.5 turns out, needle in 2nd clip from top. Switched to K&N later and all I did was moved clip to 3rd/middle.
  18. A combination of very hot pipes and oil accumilation in the pipes, just a thought.
  19. IMO thats a great plug chop, you could probably go down one size on the mains but it will give you a little room to run on colder days with no worries. I'd leave it right there
  20. Pro-x pistons are actually made by ART,the same company that makes pistons for the Yamaha factory. If your looking for a stock replacement,Pro-x is it.Wiseco will handle more abuse, like beating the shit out of it when its cold, running too lean or detonation. If this sounds like you, then wisco is your piston,IMO I would only use Wiseco in extreme engines.Otherwise there overkill.
  21. We'll see, just installed a set in my 01'.Stock bores were perfect,no taper,no out of round and .0028 piston clearance after honing.Comp is 125psi On stock ports and compression, they should be fine,or at least I hope they will be. The Namuras, like the Vitos PP have shorter skirts, excessive piston clearance will rattle them to destruction in no time.
  22. Looking to buy a set of stock upper a-arms.Or willing to buy all 4 if can't seperate.I need the sleeves and bolts if possible. Not worried about finish,as long as ball joints are good and there straight. As long as you've dealt here before or a long standing member can vouch for you,I'm interested in doing business Thanks for looking.
  23. Check out the WNF website, theres an update on the trail closure in the athens ranger district(Dorr run,Long ridege,Monday creek) Apparently some flooding in January destroyed the integrity of some of the trails. The reglular opening date of April 15th has been pushed back to the beginning of JUNE! Looks like there calling in some professional contractors to come in and make the necessary repairs. The trails in the Ironton district are schedueled to open on the original date. This F-ing sucks!!!!!!!
  24. By the end of its run,the banshee will be the longest running production atv.Thats one title that will never be broken, ever again
