  1. If it doesn't quite fit right, don't freak out...just take a grinder & grind down the spots that catch. Mine didn't quite fit right, had to do a little grinding so it would fit in there, no biggie. Other than that, just make sure you get the flywheel nut torqued to specs. Set the timing mark to the split of the cases.
  2. What size/style? Bolt pattern/wheel desired?
  3. I wouldn't go over +4 if I were you. If you do, I'd suggest looking into getting your crank welded.
  4. I wouldn't. Stock or aftermarket clutch? What oil are you currently running?
  5. Right on boonman, I completely understand. That's why I dunno if I want to spend money on more schooling for it, when I really don't know exactly what I'd be getting into. I'm basically starting a new life...I've always wanted to own my own business & have talked about doing graphics concentrating on the atv/dirtbike/ORV/Race market for some time, just haven't had time to do it. Well since I'm going to be sitting at home collecting un-employment, why not see if I can do some custom graphics on the side for some extra cash & see if I want and/or will be able to proceed with an actual business.? Not like I got shit to lose really... And I figure if I'm going to start a business, probably oughta do it while Bush is in office. So what are going to be doing now?
  6. LOL...if removing that stuff about made you shit yourself, I would definately not pipe that bitch anytime soon. Woulnd't want you goin' goatse over the difference.
  7. Thanks for all the info guys. I'm not dead set on this yet. I'm really considering just collecting unemployement for a while, sell the ex's EX and buy me a decent Roland Graphic Printer & start my graphics biz like I've talked about for some time. Don't want to invest in a $30,000 quite yet, but if I can start doing alright with smaller applications i.e. dirtbikes/atv's & it works out; I'll be applying for some federal grants & will invest in some bigger equipment & move on from there. And, doing this would be cheaper than going back to school...for the time-being anyway. Desicions Desicions...and did I ever mention my ex is a lying, two-faced, raging, soon to be bloated like her mother, swamp-sow from hell!?
  8. You're not the only one. I'm not required to wear contacts, but I don't have good enough vision. Same here...if I can't fly, count me out.
  9. Right on...I'll keep that in mind.
  10. Google is a wonderful thing... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=calcu...mpression+ratio
  11. Thanks Cotton, I hear ya...I have some experience, but not enough to amount to shit really. Most likely I'd do just that,...start working as a machinist for a while, but would have knowledge on all the concepts of WTF is going on & the hole process. Any good school should cover the work of a machinist and then move on...that's what I'm looking for. Hands on training all-around. And if I do get a job hired on as a programmer, I would request to have some time working with the machinists for a while to get a feel of everything. Again...'appreciate the feedback.
  12. Thanks for the info...I already do networking shit, but good networking jobs that pay good & give a shit about their employees around here are few & far between. Trust me, I work(ed) for one... Now if I had more than an associates degree that would be a different story, but I don't have the money right now to go on for my MBA, and I'm already in enough debt. But I do know if I can get some know-how on programming & can walk into this local aviation parts manufacturing place and start programming machines, I'll be starting around the 40-45k range, will all the benefits & shit ta'boot. That's why I'm asking...and machine programmers in & around Wichita(aviation capital of the world...blablah) are always finding jobs working for airplane part manufacturers, etc...may even try & hit up BigDog motorcycles, I know their getting ready to build a big ass plant too.
  13. Fuck that...here's what I'd do.... Call & ask to speak to the fuck that told you that. Then ask him "If you were to get fired, today, who would tell you?" Then request to talk with that person and fill them in on the little 'ol salesman's statement. If that person won't work with you and/or fire the prick salesman, then I would definately contact Yamaha & speak with a rep about that stealer being a Yamaha dealer; in vain. Business is business, salesman will be salesman, but a good dealer will be willing to compete for the business. Sounds like they don't care about staying in business. Tell them LedoftheZep said to fuck off! That'll teach'm.
  14. Tecates rock! I wanna see some pics!
  15. Could be either. I'd deusche the carbs just to make sure there's no grunt in them causing problems. Got a clymers manual? Get ahold of an OHM meter & check the stator & coil.
  16. Well, since I'm going to be without a job here real soon & collecting un-employment, I've pretty much decided to go back to school & get some certifications/training. I'm wanting to get into CNC and/or Machine programming, there are lots of programmers needed around here and I'm comfortable working with computers, so...why not? Not wanting to be a machinist, just programmer. Just needing to know what certifications/training exactly I'm going to need. Any info, feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  17. Always wanted to fly, never could afford it & my eyesite isn't good enough for aviation in the military. I grew up saying that someday I'd be an F15 pilot, just didn't quite work out that way. Someday if I'm ever able, I'd still like to obtain my private liscence just for shits.
  18. Rubber mallet will work fine too. I've had to un-taco my fronts at the dunes several times.
  19. Aren't we all.
  20. 'nough said right there. My bet is he's got some moisture/water in the stator cover, causing his stator to misfire, leading to backfiring. That or junk in the carbs, I'd clean them anyway...better safe than sorry.
  21. QuickSand Website Also, may look into TCS...I believe I've heard they're a bit cheaper, but perform awesome--never heard one complaint about them myself. I'm running the works because I didn't pay for them necessarily, got them off a shee I traded a bike for. Since the guy who owned the shee prior to me getting it was around 250 & raced MX, they've been good for my 180lbs ass. Keep us posted, I want to see some pics!
  22. I'd check your reeds & stator too. Backfiring is usually traced back to air getting sucked in somewhere, or something electrical. Would definately be worth cleaning your carbs too...my ex's old man had the same problem damn near to the T & it ended up being a chunk of grunt in the main on the side flame'n.
  23. "Slip sliding away, slip sliding away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip sliding away" -Paul Simon
  24. hmmm May hit you up on that...I could maybe find some stuff to lower the bike, will have to do some digg'n around & see what I can come up with. That'd be a blast, I went & watched you guys race your last race @ 81...looks like a blast, well...minus the dude who bit the barrell.
  25. I agree on that last statement. I ran a stock clutch for probably around 5 years too. It wasn't slipping noticeably when I replaced it; then I got to see how much it was really slipping, I was amazed...almost scared.
