The engines that run open stingers that you speak of have been designed to run that way. For the average motor running open pipes will do nothing except hurt performance for you. There is a fine line to walk there. I would put packing in there.

Actually, my truck WAS higher than that. Just because he has 2 more inches of lift than my truck had, does not mean he was higher. Dodges sit alot higher than a Chev. Now, before you get all bent out of shape here, I will explain how I know from just looking. All truck cabs are relatively close in dimensions. Except Chevy's. They are smaller than the rest. Now, with that being said, my truck cleared my 44" boggers by about 3" at the lower body lip/seam. That chevy doesn't even clear the tires with the body lip. Therefore, mine WAS higher. I say was, because I just lowered my truck 3". I would ventur to say that my truck and that Chevy now sit about the same height. I have about 15" of lift in it. Also keep in mind, that TSL swampers are not true to their size. Boggers are. And no offense taken QuadMX. Chevy's look alright. Parked in the lot. I am not a fan of IFS at all. I see the truck pictured went the right route and swapped a monobeam axle in there. Thumbs up to him. It is true though, that I am partial to Dodge and Ford. My next truck will be a PSD Ford. Without a doubt. The only Chevy I drive is my little S-10 beater. Hopefully that will change when i sell my Dodge. Hopefully by the end of Summer.......

What a wonderful hack he's learned to get into the HQ without signing in. Briliancy at it's finest level here boys and girls. and this: Perfect. You must be an anal pirate. Perhaps you feel bad that you like to lick man-mule and you feel the need to try to bestow your queerness on others. You must have been a very abused child. Did your mommy make you suck on her breast too long? Do you have sexual relations with your brother/cousin?? Uncle/dad? Which is it? You have a malfunction somewhere. They should have kept you in the juvenile detention hall a little longer. This is just wrong on a few levels. Racial bull shit is just not required...... What is it with you kids? YEP!!! You got it. I don't actually have a banshee. Nope, it is a figment of my delusional mind. And bitch, please. My wife would kick the ever loving cocksucking anal sex loving man-flesh munching cock-cum eating shit out of you. -

Nearly destroyed the HQ. hahahahaha. That's almost too funny. Gotta love the stupidity. A hack that he could post without logging in???? You could do that awhile back, but not anymore. Looks to me like he logged in this time. just got out of juvy, that's funny. ignorance is bliss so i've heard. This kid is living proof. Although he is living with half sheep DNA and half human. His backwoods deliverance type parents should have known better. he is the precise reason that stupid people shouldn't fuck. And the best part of him ran down the crack of his momma's ass. That is the way i understood it....... -
I will be married on Sat. June 21. I will see how life is then

You do not need anything but fuel, pre-mix, and your shee. A couple spare parts don't hurt anything.

I just ordered parts what ya think?

I think you got a good deal, but why 18" tires???? You don't run MX, because a kenda claw would do no justice on the track? What gives? Just curious. I have run my 18" tamers on the trail in a pinch sometimes, and it sucks. My skid plate is hammered!!!! -
24's, that's it??? I want 30's mofo!!!!
-
to cut or not to cut that is the question ???
boonman replied to ozstriker's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I have debated cutting mine for quite some time now. I didn't. I ride too many trails and mud for me to warrant cutting them. And when I'm in the dunes, they don't bother me. I like them there. I don't need to be looking down at my front tires when I am riding. i try to look much, much farther ahead than where the front tires are. if I have to look down, than something is wrong......... -
***Please take this POLL about water and sticking throttle**

I think I may open up the tolerance on the slide a little. And polish the hell out of it. it has to be something of a tight tolerance. I will have to spec out a set of carbs that don't stick and then spec out the stockers.... -
My money's on the YZ.....

I have a 1996 shee, Mild port job, (clean up) Fatties, stock carbs, 330 mains, 27.5 pilots, Rickystator, open lid, uni with outerwear, and it has stuck with the tors caps in place, and with the eliminator. (I had the brain disconnected, that's why it would stick and not shut down with the tors...) it bogs and then revs to the moooooooooon. SOmetimes I can't get it to shut down without holding the brake and dumping the clutch..... -
I am only tipping the $8,000 mark at the moment......

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaait a minute here. How did I get brought into this??? I do not hang with that ass pirating rusty trombone playing queen??

Get a round carrier and dual row or tapered carrier. There is no comparison....

Dammmm $49 for U-bolts and a leaf. That's cheap..... And if you are going to go to a solid axle from IFS, I would go the "extra mile" and throw a Dana 60. I can find them around here sometimes for $100. FOr a T-case, you can find them from anywhere from $400-$1000 depending on what you want. I was hunting for a divorced T-case from a '78-'79 F-250. They are the only divorced ddriver side output made in an NP205 model. I never found one. I ahve seen them as low as $250, but that is extremely rare. You may be better off finding a parts truck and buying the whole thing!!! Also note that most of the time, you can use your factory t-case on your IFS equipped truck if you get the correct axle. About 98% of the trucks of newer vintage are driver side front output. Which means you need a driver side input on your axle. These driver side input Dana 60's can be found on F-350 Fords. Cheap usually. They are kingpin style knuckles and very easy to re-build. Another thing to think about is the rotation of your front driveshaft is something to consider. There are reverse rotation axles and what not to be aware of....... I hope you don't think I was trying to be a "prick" or anything. I re-read my post and it sounded kind of borderline pricky. I just didn't want anyone to fire up the hot wrench and get balls deep and be like WTF??? I thought it was only a grand??? No biggie. If anyone was to undertake a project of this nature, be careful and plan ahead. Far ahead...

Actually, it's up at 18" right now. I'm 6'1", and standing on the 44" tire. LOL. I do get hassled once in awhile, i have never been ticketed with it though. here in NY, we have a headlight height limit, tailight limit, and turn signal limit. We also have a bumper height law, which I believe is 30". They were in the process of changing it recently. Lowriders have no law except that if they blow a tire, nothing can be able to touch the ground. (it is a varied type of measurement). It basically goes by the lowest point on the truck, and what height is on your sidewalll. Mudflaps are necessary, and need to cover at least 2/3 of the tire. No biggie because about 60% of the trucks on the road do not abide by this law. BTW, my truck is completely illegal, abiding only by a whisker on the tailight law is about the only thing that is not illegal. My headlights, are really high, and my bumpers, well, we'll not go there... mudflaps?? I have a receiver with flaps that suffices if I ever get ticketed. We'll see how it goes. It may be making it's maiden voyage to the Dunes Mem. weekend. it will be fun. And don't get me wrong guys, I like lowriders. I have bagged a couple of them. They are neat and I used to drive a slammed car. but right now, I want a large truck. maybe next year i will slam a dually for myself. I love the way them things look dropped!!!

For around a grand, you can exchange those pukey a-arms to nice solid axle, of your choice, just go find one. I'm adding another 3 inches to my current 3 inch lift on my '01 F350. Total cost per axle = $49.00. Oh, and its all suspension, no crappy blocks. is that $49 price with new u-bolts???? I can get custom leafs made for about $45 a piece my cost. u-bolts are $35 a set. Just curious......... And you cannot properly swap IFS for an axle for under a grand. Or even close to a grand. there is driveshafts to be made, bracketry, steering box and reinforcing the frame around the box. Crossover steering. Leafs. A good axle will run you about $300 from the boneyard, then you have to re-gasket everything, put the right gears in it, new u-joints, ball joints and check the hubs. And if not done with some know-how, you will dog track it. I have done a few solid axle swaps, and they are not for the mechanically challenged....... Just a FYI for anyone thinking of doing this..............

LMAO!!!!!! It can however be yours for $28,000. Work already done. Mean kick ass rig!!!!! turn key!!!!

Wierd. Must be an odd part of the country. Around here, my truck catches the eyes of about EVERYONE that drives by it. I drove my buddies bagged and notched S-10, shaved handles, suicide doors, frenched cadillac lights, welded gate and all that jazz. i didn't catch 1/2 as many eyes as I do in my truck. I take my truck anywhere I want to go, mud, anything. It is not a trailer queen. I have showed it, I still do, but that doesn't stop me from wheelin'. It's one of my favorite things to do..... P8ntballer, yep, it is my truck, and will most likely be with me at the dunes provided I can get my new gears in the front axle.
