I too don't see you going from an 85hp motor (which I think this will be) to a 95hp motor with the things you've added. But I guess we are all stupid because our names aren't Jeff. Good luck with your bike though.

Well without the seal there is nothing to really support the kicker shaft, so it could be part of your problem. Also to clarify, the idler gear is just a bushing, it does have a tendency to wear out, and when it gets back it will pop the snap ring off and that D washer will get digested by your motor and can cause some problems.

Cylinder head will be much hotter than what the water gauge will say. When I was running a temp gauge a long time ago, I jetted my bike to stay at 180. I like things safe -

I wouldn't be afraid of running Lonestars. Before I built my big bike the LS axles were all I ran, and I had good luck with them.
