  1. the vito's pistons are just modified wiesco's but i wouldnt run the if they were given to me.. the pro x pistons and namura pistons are cast just like stock so after a little while i would start checking them for skirts to be missing like the stockers do.. i havent had a set of wiseco prolites fail on me yet..
  2. you cant swap the stock carbs from side to side.. do you think it could be a fuel problem, maybe with out the fuel lines are ran? or possibly the seat on the float is dirty or something.. possibly a reed may be cracked or not sealing fully.. is the tors system bypassed or just the carb tops removed? on mine i had to have the wires crossed from the tors system for it to run right..
  3. your best running motor would be one that is ported to run with out the spacer and the domes cut to let the stroke run out the top of the cylinders.. you wont see much of a gain in performance if you run stock ported jugs with a spacer plate.. and i would recommend running the 795 series pistons over boring your cylinders out to .080 over and loosing what good bores you may have left in the cylinders you have now..
  4. i would use a regular set of pistons over these and save up your pennies for port work, instead of this simulated port work that the lowered piston crown will give you..
  5. the intake ports look like the only ones that have been changed much of any, the transfers look like the paint is still in them so they havent been messed with.. how does the exhaust look? and the windows into the cylinder? also check the bore on the cylinder because blaster cylinders with stock sleeves dont like to be bored out to .080 over.. they tend to crack after that.. polishing the ports is unnecessary as well because it doesnt promote good atomization of the fuel.. and when intakes are polished especially you will notice puddling of the fuel/mix along the bottom of the ports leading into the crank case.. the most that should be polished in a 2stroke motor should be the domes and possilby the exhaust.. now a 4stroke is different, other things can be polished and not affect the motor as much, like the valve seats and valves, exhaust ports ect.. heres a 215cc blaster which after this pic was taken the top end was taken off to make it a 305cc blaster and the first of that kind that i know of.. here it is as a 215 vs a predator that was pretty quick.. http://www.cpcustoms.com/videos/blaster_ch...ds/MOV00853.MPG yfz 480 on the gas.. http://www.cpcustoms.com/videos/blaster_ch...ds/MOV00842.MPG a 350 banshee on race fuel.. http://www.cpcustoms.com/videos/blaster_ch...ds/MOV00831.MPG there are more vids coming but will be held up till there is a lockup built for the 305, it doesnt keep clutches good.. i dont think its a good threat when someone say's their bringing out a blaster either..lol oh yeah it weighs in at a whopping 145lbs wet too..
  6. with the stock cylinders on a .040 over bore its a 385cc motor.. if your going to run a +2 swing arm with that motor you better be prepared to look into the sun all day long..
  7. mainly drag racing ive been running a +10 on my stock cylinder 4mm and i will keep the same swinger for the cub motor im building, i mainly drag out in the riding areas where we ride, and need it.. the bike will stand up if i dont lean forward as well.. im also running 22x11x8 12 paddle's so im sure your probably going to run less tire..
  8. i believe they are scooter type tires.. usually bought for about 15-20 bucks a piece and the rims are like 30-40 a piece.. but im just guessing..
  9. i read about this a few years ago, it seems that the rotational mass is cut down which will let you increase the rpm's giving you a sleight gain.. but they only tell you the hp numbers after their whole engine has been worked out.. the gains from just the crank were like 8% according to their site.. which isnt much, you can spend time tuning your bike in better and gain that.. oh yeah, its almost deffinitly not good when they start out saying that the builder of these cranks and such isnt really sure on why it work also...
  10. got one thanks
  11. it sounds like your rich, if your plugs look black then that confirms it.. with gas your plugs should be a dark chocolate milk color..
  12. im needing one with good foam, not needing the cover, just possibly the pan but mainly the foam..
  13. a +6 isnt going to reduce the handling all that bad.. a +2 with a 7mm is just nuts.. i wouldnt ride something like that with any less than a 8 over with at least 10-13 paddle 22's depending on the riding in this case 22in non tripple buff tires would be best...
  14. well personally i wouldnt build a motor to suit the swing arm/chassis.. i would build the chassis around the motor.. a 4mm stock cylinder will still be a hard runner.. or if staying with the stock cylidners you can look for a 7mm stock cylinder.. that would be a hard runner as well.. then later youd already have a bottom end ready to go and just swap out cylinder to one of the mono set ups that are out if you wanted even more power..
  15. usually found most people have been having good luck with the larger carbs 40's seem to work real well.. the 10mm's would only cost a little more for the cylinders and crank.. the trenching done would be about the same cost.. there is someone on planetsand selling a 7mm cub set up alreayd built.. im not sure how much he's looking to get.. http://www.planetsand.com/ubbthreads/showf...0/page/0#419620
  16. the stock carbs will starve that motor, if you run it with the stock carbs then switch to say a set of 34mm carbs your going to notice a huge gain... for the budget you should be able to get a 4mm cub set up and some carbs and possibly a set of pipes, depending on how you wheel and deal.. alot of people with the cub cylinders have had good luck with the bigger carbs.. my 4mm cub is going to be set up with a set of mikuni 38's bored to 39.5's, i ran the 38's on my 4mm stock cylinder as well with no problems.. with the same cpi out of frames... for duning i would look at some shearer or cpi inframes looking to what you can get..
  17. thats mainly because with the big bore sleeves in the stock cylinders cuts down on the already too small transfer area's so when you start looking at what the flow ammounts through the two the stock sleeved cylinder will flow more through them
  18. the cylinder and head being pitted up could have let a rod bearing loose or the needle bearings on the wrist pins.. for low hour motor i doubt that the bearings let loose.. but it deserves the look.. or possibly an air leak..
  19. if your happy with it now just wait...
  20. now thats funny..
  21. the power jet is used for alcohol.. lectrons are basicly tuned by a metering rod that is also the needle.. you turn it in and out for the jetting adjustments through the main jet.... from what ive seen they dont seem to have enough adjustments to fine tune each individual range.. the carbs that we were working with the metering rods started to spin on thier own which made tuning impossible for that bike.. im sure a little dab of loctite would remedy that though..
  22. great.. but im not hillbilly, or redneck the correct term would be coonass seeing how i live just outside new orleans.. and have no desire to visit you at the zoo or at any gay pride parade in california.. so get off my nuts im not a homo..
  23. im not sure if you noticed that those are 4 strokes.. the poster was asking about 2 strokes particularly the shee's.. since this is bansheehq, i would assume you would agree..
  24. i never once said that either of them are "bad" builders.. i never said either sucked.. as far as your statement about alba getting over on people because they let them..first a builder shouldnt try to get over on people..i find this needless to say nothing on my bike says alba or trinity on it.. i said that there are other places that you can have a motor built.. and everytime this has been brought up there is always just one guy that has a chip on their shoulder (this time its you).. so since i put my opinion up.. im not taking it back.. and its not considered a lie either.. or farse (who talks like that?) and i will go on to say that some of the parts from trinity or alba are good parts that i would buy to use. but those are only components that i would buy, not a motor package where as i would look to go to someone that can build exactly what i am looking for instead of a mass produced set up that may not be exactly what im wanting.. the way you word things you seem to not know either.. how many of these guys run 2 strokes.. particularly banshee's? the one name that i do know in your list of the best people ever is (like i said before) dean sundahl.. and ive seen pictures of that bike.. so i guess my answer for the question would be 1 (one) that im positive about.
  25. im not very very new to the sport, im not into the whole baja event or long distance cross country racing, i dont live in california so i wouldnt have been at any of those events.. i have heard of dean sundahl, only through planetsand.. where he was showing his long travel chassis that he built.. where he never said who did the motor.. before you go saying that im sooo new to things look at my join date.. i usually dont voice my opinions unless i feel that i am saying something that is found to be right..so in that case you havent heard of anyone on a trinity/alba motor in your neck of the dunes that was crowned king of the hill, or the fastest up sand mountain.. anyone lately? there are other builders out there that will give the original poster more bang for his buck than the two named.. and quite possibly there will be different builders that will give him exactly what he's looking for.. theres no need to take your frustrations out on me for voicing my opinions, so if you feel that need speak openly to the general public instead of trying to insult just one person that said the same as others..
