Wow way to dig up an old post. Even when these things are put together correctly when not running and driving or not being able to rock the bike back and forth it's not going to go into every gear. Try spinning your sprocket shaft back and forth as you try to shift, if the motor is out. If it's in rock the bike back and forth it will catch gears.
