  1. If you're going to fix one up anyway it really doesn't matter what year. I'd stay away from the j-arm frames...that's where the top front suspension is shaped as a J instead of an A. I think that's 1987 to 1989 but not really sure. Just buy one in good shape, good frame, bearings and whatever else you don't plan on changing.
  2. Put your brain buckets on people.
  3. I'm a "pee on"
  4. The grab bar will just drag. To get the shee in the air, just put a foot in the grab bar while someone lifts on the front. Once it's up, sit on the seat to get the feel for it. It's really easy to hold up on the balance point.
  5. Kind of tough when the ricky stators are only $35. I know they aren't polished but who's going to see it anyway.
  6. Meat, I'm just giving you a hard time. I've seen how people gang up on you. I'm not really into politics. I just see the hype.
  7. This is what I do and it works perfectly. The key to keeping sand out is the outerwear. I don't care what anybody else says, sand will go through a K&N and a foam filter. I have personally seen it. The outerwear keeps the sand from even getting to the filter. Mrmatt was the first person I seen do that. That's going to be my next thing If I can find a two piece 250r filter for my aluminum box.
  8. I've heard people talking about burning outerwears and them popping off too. Some people have no trouble.
  9. I haven't received any emails but it looks like a washer that goes to an angle grinder to hold a grinding wheel or cutting wheel.
  10. Can you email me a bigger pic of that to [email protected]
  11. Never heard of that. Seems they wouldn't mix well but who knows.
  12. The worst damage that can happen is a bent rod. If it's running good now and the water is out.. have fun on it.
  13. You most likely will not benefit much from new carbs. But, if you ride in water or want them to be easier to jet don't spend the money on a tors removal kit. Just get some 28mm carbs. The tors kit is around $70. New carbs can be had for around $200 with a cable. You can still use your stock boot with keihn carbs that size. You'd get better suggestions if you let us know what type of riding you do.
  14. Something that will help if finding the balance point. Have someone pic the front of the quad up all the way to the balance point while you sit on it. Then you'll know how high you have to go. It's higher than you think.
  15. A lot of dirt drag racers use the tires shaped like just4snow or the wollyberger type at 2psi. The wollyberger will grip really good then expand like a top fuel dragster.
  16. Best filter set-up for a banshee that is trail ridden and hits water is the stock airbox with a dual stage uni filter. Oil the the inner filter with that sticky spray oil, leave the outside foam dry and use an outerware. Leaving the outer foam dry keeps the outerware from becoming sticky and clogging. You can pop the snorkel and you can even cut 1.5 inches off the back of the lid if you not hitting to much water.
  17. Meat..... I thought of you as soon as I heard this. Sorry man!!!
  18. You are correct. That's why I said it's suppose to be 1.5 but mine seems to be over filled when I do that. How about yours. Does it take 1.5 quarts?
  19. If you did that wouldn't the shock mounts be in the wrong location. It'd sit very low. You wouldn't gain any travel in suspension. I think it would ride rougher because your spreading the pivot points of the a-arms. I just don't know for sure. That'd be kind of scary. My biggest fear of bending the stock a-arms to extend them is the joints bend way to easy on them when jumping. I've folded a couple sets.
  20. Mine usually takes only one after a change. The book says more but it just doesn't measure that way on my dip stick.
  21. I use to have that problem too. I switched to nylon locking nuts and make sure not to keep my chain to tight. Been fine since.
  22. Whatever fluid you decide to use in the tranny. Book says 10w30
  23. Nope, you weren't wrong at all. There are a lot of diffent engines that the rings can only go one one way.
