Mine was backfiring and hard to start after one tank of gas run through a brand new engine. Turned out to be a huge gouge in my cylinder which I then needed a complete rebuild.
so what I’m saying is you might have to tear it down
GF are great reeds that make the most power but require more petal changes. They’re thin. If your seeing light, change them up.
so you solved the richness in one cylinder after the o ring change or still rich?
carbs wear out and don’t respond to minor changes sometimes. I have a set like that.
Could the rectifier be so fried that it’s dumping or producing to much power causing problems down the line?
Would like to see some others chime in on this problem.
Weird. Your tank filter is not clogged?
if you have spark, changed all the electrical, it’s got to be fuel/carb. Can you see petal damage on the reeds?
I just refile the metal on the frame and re-install. Throw on your old harness and see if that is the cause. If the old harness when installed still doesn't fire up I would start looking at the carbs.
Have you checked the compression after the non start issues?
I’d buy the DriveLine top end if I were you. Have them add boost ports, it’s easy hp.
t5s are good pipes for open riding, if you really want awesome tq and low end get SLP pipes and you’ll have a real nice trail bike
If you have the 35s already keep them. If not go with 28pwks and ass a Pingle. 421s are thirsty.
there is no difference in quality between The two cylinders.
Its hard to beat the price/performance of the DriveLine stuff. I would contact them directly and have them build your engine. They have the porting figured out and if you go that route have them add the boost ports.
Go with Alba for sure with your budget. Their long travel arms have spacers to run stock length and 17.5 I believe.
I think there is even a BHQ reduced price if you call them.
