  1. Drain plug/screw on bottom of bowl
  2. And it ran perfect when you bought it at that mixture? Im going to assume it wasnt rejetted for winter and thats just what was already in it? Most people run about a 260 in a set up like yours and using a thinner oil ratio it would probably want an even smaller main then that even. Being its winter though that should be not far off due to the cold. still need to know what pilot size tho to make a determination of if that is the issue or not. probably should be 27.5 but then again this could also be a rich bog when the needle starts to open at about 1/4 throttle and the thinner fuel and the richer needle setting overpower the spark. What your buddy meant was after you get it jetted properly dont change the ratio as that will effect jetting. I would still use a richer oil mixture personally and always warm it up properly before riding so the jugs warm up to temp at the same speed as the pistons. Especially in cold weather if you dont warm it up well first then the pistons will get hotter then the jugs causing them to expand faster scoring them. every banshee engine i have tore apart so far had piston scoring leading me to believe this was done frequently.
  3. personally i wouldnt run a banshee at 50:1 at at a minimum 40:1 using a high quality 2 cycle oil. Was this the ratio you have always ran in it, did it ever run right while using this ratio? did the previous owner tell you to run this ratio? With the airbox on and the ratio of oil your running I would have to say at normal temps its very rich on the main and needle. being that you said it was 15 deg F then your probably about right for winter riding in the main area. Is there a reason you looked at the main jet size but not the pilot when they are a few millimeters away? most low end bogs are usually too small of a pilot or maladjusted air/fuel screws. try setting your air/fuel screws at around 1.5 out and verify what pilot your using. your needle could be a tad rich also on stock carbs it seems that 3rd position seems to work well in almost every application. It may not smoke much at all even when jetted properly due to such a thin oil/gas mixture
  4. verify what jets you have but yes i would assume its most likely lean, check pilot size and main jet size and where the clip on the needle is at. Also list what your altitude is and what has been done to it. What pipes, porting, stock or milled head or dome size if cool head and style of air filters. If stock box whether it has the lid on with snorkel, lid on without snorkel., lid off entirely or pod filters.
  5. Glad to help, your welcome. edit: thank you for replying back when it was fixed, many people don't take the time to do that.
  6. longer small one is pilot(stamped 25). Shorter small one is airjet(usually stamped 1.4 or 1.6)
  7. That would be applying voltage. And yes you can cut it.
  8. I wouldn't apply voltage to it personally. Not sure what the outcome would be but doesn't sound like a good idea. Unplug it or snip it near the cdi.
  9. Parking brake switch disconnected and wire not grounded to frame anywhere? Green/yellow wire that originates from cdi. If malfunctioning or grounded it activated rev limiter that will only allow idle from cdi
  10. Choke tube...
  11. my recommendation was 270-280 and that was because he said snorkel removed or it would be 260-270 as u said.
  12. r/r is about $300 shipping $80-100$ each way, adds up fast!
  13. What type of air-box set up? Stock with snorkel/stock without snorkel/Lid off completely?
  14. My bad, thought when you said you were sending all you stuff to a builder that meant he was building it.
  15. Shouldn't need much then. Just Fat pockets and youll be set.
  16. Great seller. I Also bought some junk of this dude, It was shipped fast, Arrived well packaged and in great shape. Would definitely buy again from him.
  17. JDS Customs makes them (the tubes anyways), Contact 87sheerips here or he has one on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Banshee-Rear-Swingarm-Inner-Pivot-Sleeve-Bushing-Bolt-1987-2006-/321335423103?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ad115707f
  18. Good luck, I made a deal with him on a bunch of parts, was waiting for a shipping quote.. that was bout 2 months ago lol
  19. I got several different quotes from $375-$475 for recreational use J arms from sponsors here.(not weaker drag style) depending on raw or PC. i have also seen a couple facebook posts of people making an offer to pay less and them accept it so $400 isn't unheard of.
  20. These were also for sale a while ago not sure if they are still but they are also pretty sweet. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=633623750013951&set=a.633623663347293.1073741831.126134387429559&type=1&theater
  21. PM returned.
  22. Read through this thread, several descent posts in it explaining pros and cons. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92099&p=793476
  23. Use taptalk app from your cell
  24. aren't they the same length for +2 and stock but slighty different dampening and preload?
  25. ↑ yep, just means its a resistor plug which means it has a resister in it that eliminates radio noise that interferes with electronics. If your using an aftermarket cdi or coil then most need these but stock does not. It wont hurt it either tho.
