  1. I'm putting it all back together today, I'll try to get some pictures up tonight.
  2. I'm not sure but that's coming off as hard sarcasm haha
  3. I wasn't shooting for red white and blue but I'll consider it, I'm not a very patriotic person... I was just shooting for red, white and polished. I was planning on doing the bottom case white with the stator red with white YAMAHA and clutch cover red, clutch cover plate white and red YAMAHA.
  4. Quick mock up before I head to bed. What do you guys think? It looks alittle tractor like to me but that will just make whoever I smoke with it feel dumber, they just got smoked by a tractor
  5. The head came out nice IMO
  6. Everyone knows my 87 is a jalopy bent special. No one in their right mind would do anymore than rattle can this thing. Waiting for cylinders to dry
  7. I used engine enamel so at least it will stand up to the heat. I'm experimenting with colors before I shell out the money for powdercoating. I understand I should be shunned for using rattle cans but oh well.
  8. Painted the head, working on the cylinders right now
  9. Altamont, Ny about 20 minutes west of Albany. I started a thread in the riding discussions, there is a couple guys out near you I believe. I'm gonna paint the shift lever, brake lever, other peg and sandblast the kicker, I'll upload pictures as soon as I got them put back on. I should have everything put back together this weekend and I'll take pictures of it after taking it to the car wash
  10. Yeah I just had a bore and hone done. Came back with pistons and top end gasket kit for $315 which is the best bang for the buck I could find.
  11. I just had my cylinders bored and honed by Mike, He got them Wednesday and I had them sitting on my porch Monday afternoon, Great turn around time. He answered all of my questions in a timely manner and I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer.
  12. That's pretty awesome, I don't think it mixes well with the matte black though.
  13. That's tempting...
  14. I used #0000 and some nickel polish on my fmf pipes to get the rust and they were pretty bad when I bought them and now they have a nice shine to them, no mirror finish though.
  15. I don't really have any chrome/polished stuff on my shee so it might look kinda funny. But thanks for the input. Would that work in the wheels or is their a different method?
  16. Painted my foot peg white, what do you guys think? I'm thinking of painting the shifter and the rear brake lever white also, opinions?
  17. Thanks, I'll definitely pay $3 extra bucks for FAST Plus a free Koozie
  18. Can anyone direct me to the cheapest V force 4 reeds? Found them on ebay for $192 brand new
  19. I haven't finished cleaning the rear fender yet. They're so old that the pure white will probably never come back out in them. I'll definitely try plastidipping them
  20. You don't have to tell me twice, I use plastidip on my truck and I've done a few other things. I didn't think it'd hold up very well against mud and rocks though I think it's because it's so white. I was thinking of maybe reversing the colors, White hubs and red wheels?
  21. I'm not looking for a new swing arm yet but thanks for the offer.
  22. Just to get some closure, +3 would be better for my riding style than +2 right?
  23. Thank you, I already have most of those tools and can get my hands on the rest of them and I plan on building my own leakdown tester using the guide here on BHQ. I should definitely replace the outer 2 crank bearings right? any other mods I can do myself while I have the cases split?
  24. I didn't mean to come off as ignorant and I only referred to one person as an asshole, I actually like most of you guys especially the ones that offer useful input. I'm going to split the cases and send the crank to be trued and welded if it isn't crap. As for suspension I was just shopping around. I have a new frame which I'm gonna slowly prepare for a completely swap. But I got the point, Crank needs to be looked at. I'm gonna order a clymer manual right now and split the cases tomorrow most likely. Apologies for being a stubborn dick.
