  1. Just to double check, this cable will work with the stock thumb throttle and tors removed? https://www.vitosperformance.com/atv_parts/product.php?productid=12&cat=0&page=6
  2. Well fuck... 2 seconds of double checking could have saved a bunch of time. Thank you.
  3. A few days ago I broke my throttle cable right there the 2 go into 1. I bought a new one and after I got it all back together I realized the cable is too long, after looking at the old one it was too long too but not long enough to make it a problem. My thumb throttle and carb too adjustments are all the way out and It's still 1-2 inches too long. Any solutions?
  4. I have one for sale, I'm in Albany, New York asking $2300, it's in the for sale: complete bikes thread
  5. Have you looked recently? there is another 87 for $2500, completely stock, an 03 for $4000 (which is a really nice drag banshee if anyone's looking) 97 for $3000, and a few others that are all $2500 or above and for the most part, in worse condition than mine. My asking price is $2200 for hq guys. The spare parts will go up for sale once I get rid of the machine. You can register it in NY which then becomes your title, if anyone would like me to register it before purchase they'll have to wait thirty days before I can transfer it. The better way is to just go to dmv yourself and do it, no waiting for it to be yours.
  6. Glad to see there is still some good hearted people on here. As for the price, I know it's high for the forum but I'm going off local prices. I'm open to any reasonable offer, and I'm more willing to negotiate with forum guys.
  7. That crank is tighter than your woman deadbeat. If I thought there was a problem with the quad I wouldn't list it. Whoever buys the quad will know EVERYTHING I know about the quad, including that the crank is 27 years old and still going strong. Also, if you read the ad, I have another complete engine assembly that, for the right price, will go with the banshee so the next owner can build the engine to their hearts deserve. I'm open to reasonable offers for the quad itself and for the quad with everything I have. Not for sale to deadbeat
  8. I knew that, just thought I'd offer it up on here. One of you tight asses might make me an offer. I do have a 2004 frame, another disassembled engine, hubs, set of wheels, etc that will come with it for my asking price of $3000
  9. I know $3000 is high, but in my area it's priced compared to the local ones, some people are asking $3500 for a stock banshee! The lowest I'll go with this is $2200 firm for hq members, which is probably still too high but that's where I'm at.
  10. I am selling my 1987 Yamaha Banshee. It starts first or second kick. Fresh top end .02 over, I have the receipt for the bore and hone. I'm looking for $3000 obo. That's just a starting point, banshees in my area are on the rarer side. I will consider trades. I'll do my best to lists all the mods. Mods - trail tech vapor tachometer, reads rpm and water temp. Can also do speed just never set it up. - fresh top end, less than 10 hours on it, crank is tight. - FMF fatties and turbine core 2, legal for the trails - Pro Taper handle bars - parking brake removal - TORS removal - k&n pod filters - brand new clutch plates, less than 1 hour on it - billet water pump, installed with the clutch - V Force 4 reeds, less than 10 hours on them It will come with the peripherals that I have for it, oil, gas, jets, ect It does have a front bumper but I took it off to clean it and forgot to put it back on before the pictures were taken. see the craigslist ad for pictures. Pick up only. http://albany.craigslist.org/snw/4525887467.html I do not have paperwork BUT the vin is clean, I went to dmv to register it in my name but was missing 1 sheet that they gave me to fill out I just never ended up going back down there. Summary: $3000 obo Altamont, NY, pick up only No paperwork but easily obtainable
  11. I heard hopes and dreams is better than nitrous. If you're pushing oil out of the exhaust then you probably have a seal leak, think about how little oil is actually in the gas and how much would have to build up before being blown all the way through the exhaust. x3 on the leakdown test
  12. Then you have no voice in this argument, go fly around and annoy someone else
  13. Are you a ford fanboy or a gm fanboy?
  14. Cause nothing breaks that needs fixing
  15. Yes, even checked that the stator plate was grounding. Even without the harness ground plugged in it had a good ground.
  16. I'm not really sure my harness has anything to do with it since I swapped another one in and got no change but I was considering it.
  17. Still at a lost with this thing, everything is good but something has to be wrong, what are the chances of sitting on 3 dead CDIs??
  18. I get a big jump from 17 ohms to over 15,000 behind the green and red wire from that stator, is that normal?
  19. Brand new plugs, just went and got them. 16k resistance cap to cap seems high, someone tested theirs and showed me and it came around 5k.
  20. I didn't delete it completely I just grounded the black and red wire using a copper wire in the connector. My key switch never worked anyway, could turn it off and bike would still run.
  21. Flywheel and key ✔️ Stator ✔️ Pick up and pick up gap✔️ Wiring harness Un wrapped and gone through✔️ Plugs and connectors cleaned and greased✔️ New spark plugs✔️ Spark plug boots Clipped ends of coil wire Coil swapped Coil ground surface cleaned w/ dielectric ✔️ Harness ground cleaned ✔️ Tors/park brake/key/tps/ all deleted✔️ Disconnected the tether switch (don't have one) Test kill switch ✔️ Swap CDI ✔️ So I guess it's time to mess with the Coil that's the only thing left
  22. I got 2 of them out and the other ones I had to cut off cause the heads literally broken off trying to back them off with a impact drill. I'll figure them out some other time.
