Well turns out the bog is a carburetor issue I think. I noticed ( after a stinking long time ) Low end is suffering because the right carb is either getting too much or too little of fuel. There is a nasty low end bog, but once you hit 5k the powerband hits HARD, I accidentally pulled a wheelie today ;P Above 5k the right side uses its fuel supply, or atleast enough to clean up the plug. If I idle too much or do low speed crusing it fouls out a plug. My other problem could be electrical. I will swap plug wires and see if the problem moves, but I am pretty sure its my Float Valve Seat not closing the fuel up on the right side. Going to order a valve seat, or polish this one up with 'Chrome polish' and a q-tip ( i hear it works well! ) and it will hopefully mate with my new needle. I still have to figure out plans for finishing the Banshee. If anyone wishes to help me decide - I have mapped out 3 options for fixing this Banshee and I would like your input~ !!! lmk~ -

I'm trying to figure out my low end bog. Since I raised the needle I hope it is that. I suppose moving the needle to the center clip would show me if that is it. I give it throttle, and immediately it hesitates, then it revs up just fine. I will still check for airleaks ( around the base, head, intakes, carb tops, exhaust ) Also - to get the banshee to Idle, I had to unscrew the adjuster all the way on the thumbthrottle so it would idle. I went from 1.5 turns on the Pilot air circuit to 1 turn, because it was in the 30's to 40's so I wanted it more rich than from the factory, but I really need a bigger jet I suppose. -

WOw wweee Up and running, and has low end power. Put everything back together. Lowered the needle down to the second richest setting for break in, since I don't got a bigger jet ( riding clean in my top tank targa lx ) I idled it for about 2 minutes, checked for airleaks then putted around with a few bursts. Its kinda early to be blasting through town, maybe not. Gotta let it cool, retorque everything, then check for airleaks again, then go go go go Banshee! -

My masssssive new parts section ;P spew everything all over What I am working with. Gaskets were oversized on the transfers. I used a hand file, the first came out bad, the second, came out well. I could easily case match that, maybe next time. It would flow so much better ALMOST DONE!!! So yeah I started to put everything back on now. -

90psi both cylinders ( never ran it yet ) Again the hose on the compression tester is 2 feet, probably 4 - 6 mm ID on it. So the compression tester isn't quite suited for low displacement vehicles :\ but yeah Once I run it, then once I break it in - should still show an increase. -

Okay I was measuring too far down on the skirt. Measuring at the mating surface of the cylinder and the bottom end - Ring end gap is .017" Ill run the bottom ring at .019" Thanks for the help =[ -

Hey Guys. Got my parts late today so I am assembling now. I am taking forever putting this together because I want to do it correctly. I got a problem though -- my rings as is sitting in the bore are sitting at .021" on the left cylinder. I want .004" per inch for the top ring gap, and .005" per inch of gap for bottom ring . My bore is approx 64.50mm ( 2.539 " ) So if I multiply the bore in inches by the ring gap I want .010 for the top .012 for the bottom Im already at .021 in for the top and bottom ring - No filing needed ? Or get a new ringset? Did the previous owner install too small of pistons? my bore is 64.53 mm, and these pistons are 64.50 pistons from wiseco -
That is so awesome, Does it really work though? I would TEST that all day, on many motors as well! Could you run a single carb on a banshee? Would it still function like it says it will? : : : OFF TOPIC : : : You guys are mean to that dude who is trying to piece together a kit. I dunno, I think I have the ability to make on myself. You could go with a port fuel injection system for the price of that 'smart carb' though, well depending on how expensive the fuel pump setup is. 2 into 1 intake setup this kit from High Gain Tuning (port fuel injection for two strokes ) Fuel pump setup ( with return ) Electric ? Battery setup custom throttle clever weatherproof box made of a Folgers coffee jug No i don't know if it'll work but a) Power requirements for the system are low costs starting at $800 for kit, few hundred for the fuel pump setup? what else? c) custom fuel maps using their softwares d) Power requirements about "5 amps peak @ 12v" e) Different size throttle bodies & injectors f) unsure if you can do the fuel injection separately, would be cool ;P g) not the only company who supplies a 2-stroke fuel injection kit What else would be difficult?

I forgot those aren't liquid cooled. They are not the same thing as a Banshee. I give up.

Its fine, mine and my friends 2 cylinders have that. Imagine an automated painting machine in the cylinder process. Do you think they are going to individually tape off the intakes of each cylinder? No, they spray it on, dry it, then cut & tap the intake /reedblock surface after. -

No pictures but the motors back in and ready for tomorrows cylinder transplant ( if the parts do show up ) I started to blast the frame but as soon as I did of course my blaster started shooting moisture with the sand, rendering the gun ineffective. So I did a small strip and shot some 'self etching primer' (yucky puke color ) and yeah, put the motor back in. I'm just going to run the minimum stuff I need to test the new setup. If it runs like with no power still - Its either reeds/intake, carburetor, or Electrical --which is fine. But if it does run well. I will tear it all down and get the frame + suspension blasted and I'll paint it. -

Off the top of your head do I need to order "Needle Valve Assy" 1UA-14190-28-00 - x 2 or "Needle Valve Assy" 1UA-14190-28-00 - x 1 Quantity shows it as [ 1 ] by default . Usually its set to the amount required, the 'pan head screws' show 4. I'm guessing I need 2 needle valve kits then. -

I will just replace the valve seats -- forgot about that. I thought I was going to have to get a whole kit for it Thanks for the Part # !!! I'll get a few ordered to go with my new needles. I have heard of using self etching primer when painting over chrome but on bare metal too? Sounds good! Ill spray self etching on any spot I sandblast and on the bottom. At this point - I am stuck. I want to get the motor up and running - but I also want to fix the chassis. Oah well, looks like I should swap everything back into the frame in prep for the rebuild kit coming monday/tuesday here is my parts list so far ONCE I know the motor is good monday... Carburetor choke Carburetor needle & seats ( 1UA-14190-28-00 ) Ill use the other new ones in the skidoo rebuild Front wheel bearing set 7/8 handlebar set with grips & pad Bushing kit black Shock Boot kit ( Cover red springs ) I might try PlastiDip on the headlights Black color Gives me a Blue fenders & White upper Plastics black shock boot and other accents silver frame color scheme A few too many colors but It'll work Thank you for your response Hoppedupandcutdown - Any input you got throw out - I'm all for doing a complete fix. -

Some people are getting trolled here, hopefully I'm not as well. User above me cattledog... Did you know there are teams that race those sorts of vehicles in your 'interests' ( 250 2stroke three-wheelers ) In the past they have raced the baja 1000. point 1) Do you think their equipment is special? NASA technology? point 2) Do you think they are concerned with the life of the motor? (e.g. the task of 'rebuilding') point 3) Do you think they would use that motor if it didn't perform all 1000 miles as quicker than competitors? point 4) 'simply not built to take ' ...'that' ... 'Kind of abuse' What is abusive point 5) you guys need to take better care of your equipment and build better machines. Your starting with a 350cc LIQUID COOLED MOTOR, not air cooled, LIQUID. Designed to run cooler!!!! Whats the point of having a liquid cooled setup? this is a joke isn't it? I am not to sure about the banshee platform but on my other two-strokes its a whole different story. No liquid cooled wot.

I want to paint the frame but I'm unsure on the paint. I painted a subframe with some Rustoleum semi-gloss black but It shows dust. I suppose I should just go with gray. Does anyone recommend a Primer beforehand? there will be some bare-metal but the rest will be a light sanding. Before I shoot it I'll wipe it with mek / mineral / thinner. What about a clear? -
