  1. the jet is for the choke and if the float bowls are switched it will flood at idle the bowl with the jet goes on the left carb / one with the choke knob on it and make sure the sync tube is connected between the two carbs the ckoke jet is and odd size as i recall not a 25 or a 27.5 or anyhting close its a pretty small jet but dont recall the proper size
  2. Does it still have the TORS system ??
  3. I would reccomend first and foremost do a compression test as I wont work on anything without doing one first .However it sounds like the carbs are in need of a more "thorough" cleaning .Also the reason pulling the choke out makes it run on the cyl is you add fuel to the cylinder that isnt running and it runs but the other cylinder is getting flooded by the extra fuel it does not need when you cleaned the carbs did you keep all the carb parts like the slides and float bowls on the same side they came off of ? as they are carb specific .I know you arent doing pipes right now but this link has good info on the carbs that will help look thru it it decribes the difference in float bowls and the slides their specs hope it helps out .http://www.toomey.com/phocadownload/install/tr6-kit-installation-instructions.pdf
  4. Well I pulled em again for the three bazillyant time ahha put in 27.5 pilots moved the needles up one from the tapered and power is back in the low ans mid range it runs great but it still needs a little more on the main as it runs perfect up to about 7/8 throttle then surges if you stay in it which we know isnt good . I think I need 320's or 330 's as someone already said as we tried 340 s off the bat a week ago and they were to rich of all the jets I have i think they are the ones that are gonna make it perfect again and I can tell now it pullls better than it has since I owned it in the low to mid .I just bought Duncan reeds from (94banshee)in the for sale section and hope they help wake it up a little more .I got a pretty good education on this thing and pretty god dam pissed off too but Shee's back Thanks everyone for helping me out on here
  5. unplug the light then take the screw out near where the light mounts to the quad then you can pull the light out and remove the other three screws inside the light to remove the guard
  6. there is a screw on the outer edge that need to be taken out in order to remove the gaurd
  7. I have tried every position in the needle from 3 down and every jet from 280 to 310 as well as pilots 25 and 27.5 it does not run right in the middle position .I do not have the stock needles as I recently bought the banshee and it already had dynojet kit and needles .it needed more fuel mid and low range after installing the k & n filts had I just moved the needles in the first place it would have been close as I am back to the jets that I had with the stock box only change is moving the needles now other than that its the same as before and the air screws are at 2.5 turns as per the vitos tors elim kit its running really good now with a little surge up top I have chopped and chopped plugs repeatedly all I need is a lil back up top now and I hope the 290s do it
  8. No the bottom clip closest to the tapered end of the needle its 90 + degrees at sea level and 100 % humidity I think tried position 5 and a washer but it wasnt enough with the 280 s main and 25 pilots I am going to up the mains a bit as I think its still a little lean up top it was getting dark and I need to chop it up top again tomorrow but I expect to go up to 290 s or 300 s it runs nearly perfect now but surges a bit up top past 7/8 throttle
  9. Yeah kinda figured as the gasket is a few mm itself and yes my floats were off a few mm as I wasnt sure about the spring loaded needles and compressing them or not i have got it running pretty good and the floats are at 21mm now Thanks !!
  10. <<<< one happy bastard well went back to stock jetting and put the needle in the last clip it runs Awesome gonna bump the mains to a 290 or 300 but its running really good just a lil lean up top with the 280 s after plug chop
  11. yes I had a lid on the stock air box and no I didnt oil the filters .The only reason I even tried to fatten it up was it didnt run right aftre the filter install .I have tried a lot of different jets and seems like they all look rich and I am beggining to think I should check my igniton system as I did wire in a kill lanyard while I was waiting on jets to arrive and seems to me like 280s were a little lean before so I ordered jets to fatten it up now after the new lanyard install and no matter what jets it looks rich I wonder if I now have an ignition issue and the jetting is spot on after all gonna look into it tomorow again after work
  12. Well problem is I had the current jets while running a stock air box and it was fine now with just installing the k & n s it has run poorly since .I have tried alot of different mains from 280 -310 and have tried both 25 and 27.5 pilots it runs best with the jetting I started with 280/25 but still does not run excellent like it did before I started haha I must have another issue but have checked and re checked all sorts of shit i am gonna move the needles up a slot or two and seeing if it changes I have tried moving the needle once but ihave changed jets since and went back to slot 4 on the needles .
  13. Well i am back to origional jetting and its still not right I'm gonna clean the carbs soak them and try again damit .It ran perfect two weeks ago with the stock air box and current jetting only change is the k & n filters .i am ready to buy a stock air box and toomey filter again as my stock air box I cut up and only used it for an overflow bottle bracket and the filter needed to be replaced .Gonna keep trying but Dam
  14. well I hope to get it dialed in I am about to go mess with it again now and special it may have been you I really dont remember as I havent been back there since I joined BHQ there is no need to go back but if it was you Thanks !! well I am gonna go re check the float levels as I did mess with one of them and I according to what I have read may have them set incorrectly it ran perfect before and it already had the jet kit and t 6 pipes things went bad after the k & n install it instantly didnt run right hmmmmm I am gonna go check a few things and will see how it goes
  15. I 've been reading the jetting section and am getting closer somewhere around 280s and 290 s at sea level with 25 pilots trying to confirm float level settings and may have to move the needles but trust me i am on it haha
  16. Can somebody tell me if this is the proper way/ place to measure on the inside edge of the carb where the bowl contacts to set / measure the Float level I found this pic after some searching but wanna confirm that its correct and 21mm is the correct spec ??
  17. Somebody suggested BHQ and when I found it I was like See Ya BT to BHQ
  18. Well I've been drag racing honda civics the past few years best pass to date is 11.0 @ 131 mph and if you know anything about them Turbo K series / rsx engines arent cheap neither is drag racing imports haha so the Banshee fills the need for speed and dont cost a fortune every week to run it .My banshee is an 04 in mint condition with very low hours and has barely been ridden it has Toomey T-6 pipes and K & N filters , prm nerfs ans a kill lanyard other than that its bone stock w/ stock carbs that are kickin my ass trying to re jet lol
  19. Whats up Travis names Mark and wow I didnt even know what a Banshee was two months ago haha now I wish I had bought one a long time ago now if I can only get it dialed back in I love the thing
  20. Well hope ya made out better than I did yesterday as gd jetting is a bitch and I wasnt able to get mine dialed in yet but I'll keep tryin damit how did your jetting operation work out for ya ??
  21. I'm recently new not knowing any better I started off on BlueTraxx and that place is LAME ! Banshee HQ is Awesome I belong to a few online forums and so far i like this place
  22. I raised it one positon yesterday and it didnt help but that was with 300 mains I came back and put them back in slot 4 and went down to 290 mains man this thing was 100 % perfect and now does not run good at all whats the chance I need to go two slots in the needles as I am gonna try that today ?? sure would like to get this thing dialed back in I literally spent my entire day off working on it and only riding I got to do was plug chop pulls
  23. stock carbs currently have 25 pilots and 290 mains stock engine w / t 6 pipes and k & n air filters , jet kit and have tried several differnt jets in the mains seems to me like its still rich running yes I bought a jet kit and some misc ones spent all day on it and still dont have it right
