  1. You couldn't ask for better weather. Perfect day!
  2. Sounds like its a little wet up there. May have to find a new place to drag.
  3. mx1986 I'm interested in your tires. im me and we can talk
  4. If you have the funds I would try and get an aftermarket swingarm and a round carrier. They are a ton easier to work with and adjust. But they are not the cheap. I think from FAST you can get a swingarm built and the round carrier for around 550. Well worth the money in my opinion.
  5. Hey Alcohol.. you and I are about 10 miles from each other. Small world. Hope to see you up there.
  6. I don't care if I'm winning. I think my face will have a constant permagrin when riding the new setup.
  7. clrkaw26. Dude its pretty clear you shit in the nest. Good Luck.
  8. Maybe I skipped over this, but are you looking to do a tranny mod? Are you looking to improve your water pump? What kind of riding to you do? Are you going to need a longer swingarm to be able to handle the more hp you will have? All these things cost money that most people don't think about when making their bike. Like I said, maybe I missed that part of the conversation when I was skimming over all of the bullshit comments.
  9. I would call Jeff at FAST and order some new silicone couplers and brackets. I wouldn't screw around with the old brackets and couplers.
  10. I've got myself, my dad and two friends from work coming. Only one banshee though.
  11. Myself and possibly 5 other guys are looking to head to silver lake this coming Saturday for a test ride. It would be cool to try and get a crowd out there to tear up the dunes. Weather looks to be pretty nice.
  12. Ok thanks guys. Great input! I will try these tips. I just don't want to clean it out. That bites!
  13. I need to remove the powder coating that is inside by the rear carrier. Whenever I am on the gas the carrier spins and loosens the chain. I the bolts down tight but I think the powder coating is making it to smooth of a surface against the round carrier. Any suggestions?
  14. I have an 87 banshee that never had the rear axle out and it took myself and another guy with a torch on a huge bench vise to get the two nuts off. Then it took me a large press to press out the dust seal and bearings. It was not fun. My advice would be to remove the rear axle and carrier as one and take it to a machine shop where they have the large tools and torches to remove it. Myself and another guy tried at my house with big tools at first. We were never going to get it loose. I thought about just buying a different axle. Good luck!
  15. I would have to agree with WindycityJohn on this topic. Just a thought though, who built your motor?
  16. I'm not the best at jetting but I had a setup very close to yours and I was able to make my banshee pretty quick. I had the stock size pilot jet, stock air screw setting, (I believe 1 3/4 turn out) and a 300 main, but I was running k/n pod filters and no boost bottle. I know to that elevation also plays a part in jetting and also the temp that your running it at. read up on the boost bottles. I thought that I read that there isn't any benefit from it.
  17. I take back my earlier comments. He knowingly sold me parts that he knew were no good and even at that, the prices were not great. I was in a pinch and needed the parts. I would stay away or exercise caution. I have had 2 dealings with them and both times it was not good. I am trying to be somewhat nice in this review of my dealings but its hard.
  18. When I have figured out how to post pics I will post it.
  19. I think that I have dealt with this place. There is a guy that is close to Grand Rapids, mi and has a California number. If its the guy that I know, he gets good running bikes and strips them down and sells the used parts. Some parts are worth it if your in a pinch, but his prices are higher than they should be. Just realize that each part he sells is used, so in saying that, you roll the dice. He helped a friend of mine out with a used pipe for a yz450 that was missing a spark arrestor. The website was darksideracing.biz
  20. I found a solution. I had the tommey spark arrestors on my t5 pipes, the tea cup style. I took them off and milled out the inside diameter of the CPI tips and milled down the edge of the sparkys where the c-clip or snap ring rests and welded them together. It looks pretty good and I can still remove the tips to clean out the sparky screens. I can also buy different tips if I don't want to run sparkys. Thanks for all of the great ideas!
