  1. Ive got the aluminum impellar on the to do list as well and seen i can get a metal gear to drive the pump instead of the nylon stocker is this a good investment while im in there doing the impellar?
  2. At what HP level and what mods do you have to have for the stock crank to no longer be sufficient? Ive read and heard for instance with the stock carbs 65hp or there about and just wondered how much the stock crank will take before its a weak link?
  3. How durable are the stock cranks when i did my topend mine is still stock do they do this to?
  4. Got any pics of your build?or vids of how it runs? I looked at and asked about those kits as well but from what ive learned here they need porting to really wake them up/So if you count the 700 to buy it then another 350'ish to port it ur at or over 1k add a few more bucks to that and you can get a high end kit that screams out of the box with a lot of potential down the road. But your situation isnt like the average joe you got yours in trade. If i could trade and get them at next to nothing or for a good deal id see no reason why not to run them. Im a new guy here but ive been here reading and wishing i had a banshee long before i actually got one and 112mph seems a little outlandish id love to see a vid of the combo running though and pics of your build.
  5. If theres a descent amount of coolant in the crank case you will have to pull the jugs i would think to get it out.On my rm250 i had to take a syringe with some fuel line on it and sucked it out like that.It was the first time doing a topend on that bike nad thought i had the coolant drained all the way but didnt. Outside of that id say pull the motor and dump it out.
  6. Im confused as to what to do so maybe by giving more info and revealing my goals i can get a more definitive answer? Im pretty happy with my bike as is but....I do plan to send off my jugs to be ported next time i do top end but other than that im happy as can be with the performance so far and thats as far as i plan to take this quad because basically its all i really need. With the only future mods in my future being porting (aggressive trail port i think) which head will be better for me in particular? Im thinking the mull head mods will be more than enough for my current and future mods what do you guys think?I dont mind buying the aftermarket head but with my current/future mods is it a waste of money and overkill?
  7. Are these stock shocks modded and overhauled or aftermarket? Either way...DAMN those look tough!!!
  8. A buddy bought an lt400 from a guy who had 3 banshees and the suzi came with a box of stuff in it was an alba pro comp cdi box for a shee he gave it to me new in the box not sure if the guy meant to send it but i have it now as a spare they any good?It has a knob with different settings of advances and rev limiters.I did plug it in and the box fired up like my oem 2GU box so i may give it a whirl anyone using one of these?I figured i couldnt complain for free even if its a temporary spare.
  9. 225 is way too lean. I have basic bolt on bike with T5's,k&n in stock air box, chariot reeds, and +3 and im at 300 mains. Porting will require more because of more air so id start high like maybe 340 or greater and work down.Better safe than sorry. As for the home porting you sir got bigger balls than i.I have seen vids on it and they all make it look easy but to me its a big risk so congrats on it if you pull it off and its sucessful. Got any pics of the progress?
  10. In my experience and from what ive seen others experience oem is the only way to go unles you go mls or cometic. I had a k&s head gasket on mine that leaked.Swapped in an oem and leak was gone the weirdest part was they looked identical.Guess looks can be decieving.
  11. Im about to do something in the area of the cylinder head and been searching here (i love the search function) and see that some guys are sending off their stock heads and having them milled and rechambered as opposed to buying the new aftermarket ones. To me im not planning to swap domes i had intended on buying a set of 21cc domes and leaving it alone since i dont ride anywhere but the same spots so really no need for swapping them. My real concern is the aftermarket head is around 230.00 and the stock modded one is 95 thats a large gap.Can the stocker be made to perform as well or better than the aftermarket ones?I dont mind buying the aftermarket one but i want the best bang for my buck. What do you guys think and why? If the stocker can be made to perform as good or better than the aftermarket ones thats the better choice for me i think but id like to know what you guys think?
  12. Thanks! Doesnt get much clearer than that lol
  13. I too am curious about the 2 into 1 setup. Is it good? Noticeable increase? Better than T5's? The thing i wonder about is how they work seeing how you have 2 cylinders fighting each other.Or atleast in my head thats what it seems like would be happening. Can any of the tech savy people here explain the pros and cons to the 2 into 1 over the traditional duals?
  14. Check your ignition. I rode mine all weekend a few weeks back parked it.Went out a day or two later to go for a cruise and no start. Ended up being pick up coil.Luckily ive stock piled an entire spare ignition and about 15 mins later i was cruising. FYI id avoid powerwashing your quad.I do it the old fashioned way with a rag and a bucket so i dont push water into places it normally wouldnt get without the help of 1500psi lol.
  15. Compression is 125psi in each cylinder i run anywhere from 89-93 in it now. From what i gather on here 21cc domes give around 30psi more of compression will i need to run on 93 at 155psi?
  16. Im looking at buying a head in the next few weeks and am trolling for any and all info i can find.So far from searching here and comparing my mods to others i need 21cc domes at 700ft elevation with T5's,chariot reeds, and k&n with +3 timing. But ive not seen much on having to rejet. Right now my bikes perfectly jetted and running like a scalded dog will bolting on a head change my jetting needs? Also at 700ft can i or should i run smaller domes? Id like to be able to use the fuel we have local here which is 89 but i can travel 20 miles for 93.
  17. So at what temps do you risk engine damage with these engines? Seems everyones got a certain preference but at what temps are you actually doing damage like warping the head and so on? Not that i plan to but my g/f is begging to ride it and i may get her one and shes kinda dumb lol
  18. im running 50/50 regular coolant. Ive got my lights so far at 200 and 220 i read on here some guys had the same when i searched. Well good sounds like my coolant system is functioning properly and ill leave the settings alone.
  19. I just installed a trail tech vapor on the banshee and was wondering what to set the temp lights at? Is it the same as a car? Most vehicles due to emissions and all that run between 200-230 is this too hot for a banshee? The experimenting ive done on some pretty hot days (80-90) show with me hammering WOT 6th gear ive seen a max temp of 185 is this ok?I never boil over or puke coolant and ive got a 40% bigger ebay radiator.are these temps acceptable? Average cruising has been about 160-170. Thanks fellas
  20. Check float height and id reclean the carbs maybe the tech that did it wasnt thorough?
  21. I had this same issue a few weeks back and it ended up being my pick up coil. But id check the grounds and get a DVOM and check to see if your ignition is in spec.
  22. Well if thats the case ill just go with porting. I just thought maybe while at it i could get some extra power on the cheap should have known better.lol
  23. I too have seen those vids on youtube and wondered WTF they had done those things hauled ass!
  24. YES! Something like that! So if im getting it ported anyways and i send it off to be ported along with these sleeves to be installed and ported at the same time this isnt a good way to go? Im looking at just a bolt on banshee that will live in harmony with my T5's and other minor bolt ons.Big bore sleeves/porting would be about what im looking for. Again looking for a low buck descent setup not really worried if its the baddest thing around just some more power and figured since ill be getting them ported soon why not look at a little more displacement? Say a guy was to buy these sleeves, add in pistons, then the labor excluding port job what would labor along on this be at a fair price from one of the sponsors here? Also what does taking this engine up to twin 72mm bores bring the cc's up to?
